skortila (2879), Bunnik, Netherlands Jul 29, 2009 Bottled. Aroma has fresh crisp piney and citric hops. Clear, orange coloured with a slightly off-white head. The taste is bitter, crisp, has grapefruits and pines. Straightforward. Okay beer. Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Jul 29, 2009 Clear amber orange. Smooth hop smell with several amounts of aging and sour/soft elements. This is superb by all means. The aftertaste soothes me like a ball rubbing. DrnkMcDermott (1832), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Jul 28, 2009 22 oz. bottle in narrow tulip glass. Surprisingly clear golden color, just a few particles visible close up, fluffy IPA head. Big smell of pine, apricot and grapefruit. As their label claims, experimenting with hop extracts does indeed give it a big hop flavor without any grassy or vegetable notes. My lips are sticky from malts after a few drinks, with a light caramel or creme bruleé toast. It’s a different label, no "Sonoma Farmhouse" anywhere, and no date notch, but I bought this in May and got to it at just the right time. jason (1620), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 28, 2009 Bottle. Nice aroma of citrus and grapefruit. Flavor is bitter citrus, grass and a touch of malt to add some sweetness to each sip. Smoother then I thought it would be and very drinkable. williamherbert (461), Syracuse, New York, USA Jul 28, 2009 The appearance is a clear carrot orange, with a healthy head. Frosty lace on the sides. The smell is a superior woody aroma. Heavy pine and woody oak. This is a sturdy aroma. Hint of sweet, flowery esters. Perfect. The taste is heavy with oaky hops. The hops themselves are dynamite. Very extreme and strong. The hops are all there, but just a touch of dark, roasted malts. Thick and creamy. Bristly and fizzy. This beer is heavy and thick. Major wood hops. I poured a second almost immediately (which I rarely do of the same beer) so it must be drinkable. A helluva nice beer. caesar (3020), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Jul 27, 2009 Bottled. Clear golden color, short head. Aroma of fresh hop, grapefruit, pine. Nice bitter taste and finish. Pretty straightforward, like a decent DIPA should taste. But I dont see why this should be better than most other DIPAs. Rustyham (545), miami, Florida, USA Jul 26, 2009 Really no point in decribing this- like most Impy IPA’s, it has an amazing smell that is not supported by the flavor. Don’t go out of your way for this one- nothing amazing here. Bottle at Abraxas in Miami Beach. jerohen (1602), Bussum, Netherlands Jul 25, 2009 Bottled, courtesy of skortila. Clear orange/golden coloured, white head. Nice nose, grapfruit, pine, very hoppy. Very bitter flavour, astringent in finish. Nice nose, but not very special.
