4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Bocktown. Outstanding IIPA. Best Iíve had all year, Iíd bet. Pour was a deep gold with a nice frothy 2 finger off white head. Aroma was strong..hops all the way. Taste was very contained. Yes, the hops run rampant, but the malt perfectly balance out the bitterness. Doesnít go overboard like most do and give it a incredibly sticky and wet aftertaste. While the hops shine, they donít kill the mouth and the alcohol, while present, is not overboard. Perfect balance. They better never through this recipe away.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 13, 2008 Name: Hop Stoopid
Source: Brick Store Pub
Appearance: clear dark gold, fine off white head, solid lace,
Aroma: sweet crystal malt aroma with an abundance of citrus hops producing the definitive sweet grapefruit aroma,
Flavor: lots of hop flavor balanced by the sweet caramel malt, nice long bitter finish, bitterness starts to take over as it warms,
Name: Hop Stoopid
Words: charlie mopps
Aroma: same great sweet grapefruit aroma but a bit subdued,
Flavor: flavor has lots of sweet crystal malt balanced by a bitter grapefruit rind character, lots of fruityness beside the grapefruit showing up including tangerine, bitterness is a bit subdued allow the malt and hops stay in control,
Overall: this keg and the one at Trapeeze last month are a bit more subdued than what I had last year at Brick Store, new batch or old kegs?, overall I think it works better even though a bit disapointing at first,
Name: Hop Stoopid
bottle has a lot more of the fruityness up front with the citrus being more in the background, low bitterness,
Name: Hop Stoopid
Aroma: huge sweet crystal and pine aroma with the fruity tangerine and mango showing up later,
Flavor: sweet crystal malt flavor with huge pine character, alcohol heats it up and adds a peppery character, sweet grapefruit comes in a second wave,
Overall: the bottle restores the lackluster performance that comes and goes with the kegs,
Aroma: 7/10; Appearance: 7/10; Flavor: 7/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 15/20

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Lemon/lime centennl aroma wafts above the gleaming amber ale with a hug rocky head. Juicy citrus like biting into a slice of grapefruit, slight caramel with no hint of alcohol. Slightly creamy and tingly. This is a gret DIPA and a fine offering from lagunitas.

On tap at Fat Heads in pittsburgh. Hoppy, crisp. Strong pine and citrus. Very drinkable. Would like to spend some more time with this one and do a proper rating. For now: very tasty.

Holy cow now thatís an aroma. Pure tangerine, leafy hops, like sticking your nose in a fresh out of the fields hopback, gorgeous sunset orange color, some serious fresh hops on the tongue duking it out with a nice non-cloying sweetness. Exactly how a IIPA should be; rivals Dogfish 90 minute.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Toronado. This copper ale poured with a nice white head, eliciting a hoppy aroma. There is a sweet malty start and a bitter dry finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a hazy orange amber color with a small off-white head. The aroma is sweet with fruity and caramel malt notes. Orange with a light citrus (stronger as it warms) hop character mixes in. The citrusy hops start with some strength in the flavor and last past the malt. But then grapefruit rind bitterness starts and grows through a long mostly dry finish.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Several pints on tap at The Graduate in Davis, CA. Tons of aromatic mandarin orange citrus hop aroma with some grapefruits and mangoes present as well. A little sugary and amazingly aromatic. Transparent copper body with a small-medium off-white head. Citrus, fruity, burst to start. Grapefruit and orange flavors are noted. Plenty of resiny hop bitterness in the middle with more juicy hop flavors present in the end. Nice stuff.

22 oz bottle. Poured a clear orange color. Head was two fingers high and off white. There was some decent lace left behind on the glass at then end. Aroma was of big malty caramel, apricot, and grapefruity hops. Mild to moderate hop bitterness and delicate sweetness on the tongue. Tasted of cotton candy, caramel, toffee, butter, and grapefruity hops.
