Bomber. I had this summer 2007 at Kirby Cove campsite. Anyone who knows of this place will understand my delight of the combination of the view and a good beer. It is now available in my home Ohio. Nice color, nice head, yada, yada, yada. Very intense hop aroma. Solid hop flavor with a consistent bitterness, just enough malt. Delivers a serious resinous thick mouthfeel, long lasting too.

1 pt 6 oz bottle. Pours rich coppery with a decent creamy off white head. Smells like a pine tree fell in an orange grove. Tons of pine and orange zest hits the nose. Tastes just as good, if not, better. Pine, orange zest, lemon, sweet, malty, and earthy. Creamy mouthfeel. Lasting aftertaste. Excellent beer.

Wow! 22 oz bottle. Pours a nice clear golden color with a thick white head full of bubbles. Aroma is hops hops hops, touch of malt. Flavor is a nice, powerful hop and citrus combination, with a nice balance with the caramel malts. Not bad at all!

Bomber. Pours a filtered, clear golden color with a very bubbly white head. Highly carbonated appearance. Aroma shows grassy hops of moderate intensity. Earthy, slightly pungent and dank. Columbus? Slightly herbal as well. Flavor is surprisingly not very bitter, slightly dry with a moderate hop flavor. A little lacking actually. This is decent but kind of a letdown.

650 ml bomber from Freddy. Pours a rich translucent copper color with a fair sized white head. The aroma is strong with pine, green hops and ripe citrus (mostly oranges). The flavor is overtly biter with loads of fresh oranges, grapefruit, lemons, walnuts and baked rye bread. There is also a brief shot of sweet rock candy that gives way to caramel malts. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The finish is medium in duration and dry with lingering grapefruit. Overall: I am really impressed by this IPA, it my well replace Blind Pig as my everyday go-to IPA. Simply outstanding.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2010 Re-rate 6-23-2010: Cask at Toad in the Hole. Clear pale amber, low diminishing sparkler head. Huge tangerine and kumquat aroma hits you from feet away. Onion flavor is at threshold for pleasing but soft caramel and smooth bittering bolster the foundation. Finish is quite mellow for such a big beer, especially with such mild carbonation. 2-3-2009: 22oz in shaker glass. Pours brilliant gold with medium white head. Bright, grassy, citrusy aroma. Flavor is similarly hop-dominant, with mellow sweetness that puts the hops in an appropriately delicate frame. Yum. The best bottled DIPA I’ve had the privilege to sample.

22 oz bomber from Greens Discount Beverage in Atlanta. Poured a hazy gold/orange color with a one finger white head that quickly dissipated into a thin layer of bubbles. The aroma was floral and piney. A very clean, awesome smell. The flavor was absolutely excellent. A solid alt base gives way to the cleanest hop flavor I’ve ever tasted. The finish is a solid citrus and pine finish, without an abrasive, lasting bitterness. I could drink these forever. An absolute steal at 3.90 a bomber. I’d pay twice that for it.

Picked up a case of bombers at the brewery while visiting San Fran. Vibrant orange pour with a mid sized white head. Very sweet and aromatic floral scent with slight hints of pine needles. Extremely sweet, especially for a west coast IIPA, but also has a hefty citrus and floral hop bite. At 4 dollars a bomber here in Eugene I imagine this is going to become a frequently drank beer for me.

zebracakes (1339) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 22, 2009
Bomber purchased at Whole Foods on Wisconsin Ave. in Georgetown. Pours clear orange, white head. Aroma is super fuzzy kiwi hoppy, tangy tangerine, crisp. Flavor is citrusy, floral, crisp, grassy, fuzzy kiwi, malty (but not too sweet). This beer is hoppy, crisp, and sweet but doesn’t have the typical syrup quality of a lot of Imperial IPAs. The alcohol is well blended as well. This is a pretty darn good Imperial IPA if you ask me!

Golden orange body with and adequate white head. Very floral, slight pine, sweet hop aroma. Sweet with a late bitterness at the back of the tongue. Floral hoppiness on the swallow. Interesting, but not as hoppy or thick as I expected.
