22oz bottle. í08 vintage. bottled about 8 weeks ago. big thanks to jrop_21 for sending a bunch of these! pours semi-dark golden with white head. wonderful pnw hop aroma of grapefruit, pine, citrus, and a slight musty quality to it. flavors are juicy hops, grapefruit, orange, with a piney finish. full mouth feel and very slightly undercarbonated for my tastes. lots of hop flavor but alcohol and malt levels keep this from getting too messy. this still tastes really good so Iím sure I would re-rate this even higher if it was even fresher or on draft. except for that cask sample of old gnarley wine this is the best lagunitas has ever tasted to me.

Pours a clear golden amber with a thin, dense head that dissipates leaving a slight swirl of foam on top and spots of lacing along the way. Smell is massive with green floral hops, pine resin and grapefruit jumping out of the glass and attacking my nose. Seriously big fragrant hop aroma! The taste also starts with fruity hops, mostly grapefruit and apricots, but has a bit more biscuity malt presence than the aroma. The finish brings back the pine for a bitter finish. Mouthfeel is medium and sticky with hop oils and good carbonation. This is a great DIPA and the best offering I’ve had from Lagunitas. When you factor in the price, this is absolutely one of the best beer values on the market.

Bottle courtesy tpd975. Pours a clear copper with a one finger off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine, and floral hops with a good dose of sweet malt and caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate to strong amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. Very good.

Draught. At Coleís in Buffalo. Quite a light amber pour, clear, with a small head - I like my DIPAs to be cloudy-looking. but the aroma - jesus! - huge pungent fresh grapefruit and pine resin, and thereís crushed mint herbal character here too - yeah, some malt, but this is all about the eye-watering hops. Taste - yep, hoppy; at first you think "nice, a bit of a bite, but not that big" - then you breath in and and oxygen works on those patient alphas coating your tongue and after 2-3 seconds the REAL resin/pine/grapefruit pithy bite kicks in and youíre committed for the whole E-ticket hop trip - long, intensely bitter, increasingly alcoholic but that never overpowers (how could it?), and oh so fresh tasting. So itís pretty one-dimensional - so what!? itís a GOOD dimension: the HOP dimension, and I like the hops. Super beer - and damned big!

draft at coles in buffalo- real good. Christmas tree juice, and quite offensive to those hop averse. Not me. Really liked the stickyness here. Great brew.

22oz bomber. Pours a bright copper with a two-finger, light tan head. The aroma is delightful - the right blend of citrus hops and light, grainy, crystal malt sweetness. The flavor follows aroma - a nice blend of citrus hops with a touch of pine and well-balanced dose of crystal malt sweetness. Malt has light breadiness and moderate level of toasted bread (melanoidins). Beer gains in bitterness. Bitter finish is strong with pine and grapefruit, but balanced by firm malt backbone that maintains a light caramel sweetness into the somewhat dry finish. Mouthfeel is full-bodied and velvety smooth with a light tickle from decent level of carbonation. Overall, a very tasty and well-balanced double IPA - delicious.

From the bottle I wasnít sure what to expect, it sounds like some cross between a DIPA and a saison or something. Turns out its just a solid DIPA. The beer is very pretty, clear copper with a lacey white head. Aroma is fantasic too, classic citrus cascade. The flavor is good, bitterness is there but not lingering at all. I could go for a touch more bitterness actually. Nice hoppy flavor though. The beer feels a little thin and bubbly in the mouth, finish a little dry. Overall I would call it excellent. Only $4 too, what a deal.

650 ml. Clear orange-copper with a medium sized, lasting head that leaves a frosty sheet of lace. Big aroma of floral-citrus hops and honeycomb. Flavor is the same hoppy tones plus some earthy resin and wood. Not real complex aromas or flavors, but that isnít what this beer is about; itís just damn hop-tasty, as intended. Medium body is smooth, soft, and finishes dry.

Oh yeah... this one is a west coast treat. Light amber pour with a thin head but the hoppy aroma is incredible with strong citrus i.e. grapefruit, orange some malty sweetness and light caramel. Full bodied and bitter. Mouthfeel is resinous, notes of citrus and pine needles with just enough malt to allow the hops to come through without distraction. This is a hoppy mofo and a great brew!
