On tap at Russian River brewpub during the 2009 RBSG visit there. This was a dark gold pour, nice amount of citrus and hoppiness with some balance.

Pours a clear golden color with a foamy haed. Aroma is citrussy and hoppy. Tastes very much like the Pliny the Elder (which I like the best). Nice balanced citrus and hops with a warm dry alcohol finish. Yummy.

500 mL. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a two finger, rocky, tan head that leaves some impressive lacing. Aroma is beautiful floral hops, powerful citrus hops, grapefruit, strong spicy alcohol. Taste is heavy on the Chinook and Amarillo (?) hops up front that moves towards a powerful alcoholic presence. Long, acidic, dry, bitter finish. This is such a drinkable double IPA- if it had been presented to me as a pale ale or IPA I would not question it all until that massive alcoholic presence in the finish.

(22oz bottle) Pours a rusty orange with a nice 1 finger head. Great retention and big bubbles resting on top. Nose is oat, grass, grapefruit and piney hops. The flavor is grapefruit and pine hop combination but absolutely no bitter linger. Slight caramel here, but the malt backbone interrupts any chance this 100+ IBU beer has to linger on your palette. This beer may have the best oily mouthfeel I’ve ever had. Superbly balanced.

Excellent lace from the dense head. Relatively clear, with a beautiful golden color. Great Floral smell--lots of grapefruit to the nose. Short beginning to the malt, soon to default to the strong, strong hop bite. Interestingly, the aftertaste is very short. Good body with a slightly high carbonation. Way too easy to drink, considering the ABV.

Clear golden amber pour with nice but fading head. Obvious poty hop aromas, flowers and pine, but also a sugary caramel aspect. Easy drinking for sure, and has a potent bittering hop kick which yields a syrupy warming touch. Tooth coating. A quality brew, however, I liked it more when it was slightly chilled as opposed to letting it warm up a bit, I felt it helped the mouthfeel. Good overall

22Oz bottle pours a hazy golden orange with a nice full off-white head. Lots of sticky lacing. HUGE Grapefruit, pineaple aroma. Classic. Flavor cant quite keep up, but p[lenty bitter as the commercial escription indicates. Lots of fresh hop flavor to make it not just an IBU Bomb. Nice palatel blasting dry bitter smack up the side of the head at the end. I kind of wish the ABV was not quite so high, I’d enjoy drinking more of it. Nice big DIPA.

The aroma from this pour is so much hops that it smells like pineapple, which I have never smelled before. It’s lovely! It pours a light gold with lots of beading and a decent head on top. First taste is all hops and I can’t seem to get a sweetness out of it. I’m not complaining though. This doesn’t have the mouthfeel of other beers of this style, a bit thin and burning, but still nice. I’m glad I bought 2 bombers of this!
