Nice citrusy aroma with a bit of sweet fruitiness and slight caramel notes. Flavor is abundantly hoppy and resinous, with tons of pithy grapefruit, lemon, and orange notes. Nice dry finish. I havent been overly impressed with Lagunitas in the past, but this one is very good. tgncc (809), Bellmore, New York, USA

The appearance is a orange color, true to the style, a little on the lighter gold side. The flavor is a hop explosion, mainly citrus hops, but also a solid malt backbone, caramel, fruits. The finish is a mix of fruity sweetness and citrus hops. Like a mix of peach and grapefruit. Thin/medium mouthfeel, a little oily. Excellent IIPA all around. robforbes (1085), Bremerton, Washington, USA

The aroma is of super fresh hops (reminded me of opening a bag of hops on brew day). Mouth feel is remarkably smooth and balanced for how hoppy it smelled. Tastes of citrus and smooth malts. The aftertaste has a pleasantly sweet kick to it. Damn good IPA. a061183 (3), Arizona, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Amazing bomber by Lagunitas! Has a 1 finger head but dissipates into a thin layer with great lacing. Color is a golden goodness with the flavor of pine, pineapple, and yet very bitter but on the other hand wonderfully sweet. An amazing DIPA! My second to of course to 3Fs Dreadnaught. sleestak (186), Williamston, Michigan, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 13, 2009 Bomber, man. Pours gold with a fleeting but lacy white head. Aroma is a biff-bam-pow of fruity hops. Flavor is juicy fruit hops, with an focus on peach and pineapple. Malt background is muted and there’s a bit of alcohol burn in the finish. Very good and a reasonable price for such a big hop monster. topherh (899), Kearney, Missouri, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 12, 2009 Fantastic big fruity citrusy & pine hop aromas that are nicely followed through in flavors. Peach and dry-apricot. Has a nice citrusy sweetness, aroma a bit of earthy wildness, all in the hops. Finish is softly green and lightly bitter without over-riding the subtle tastes and aromas, great balancing act. Kind of pineapple-lemon fragrance... I love the fruit character here which is from masterful use of hops against an integral supporting-role pale malt. Quintessential reason to seek IPAs.
