4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma is strong citrus, led by grapefruit. Lots of hop bitterness, as indicated by the bottle. Strong bready malts. Appearance is a clear golden clear with a white foam head and good lacing. Taste leads with strong grapefruit, pine hops, and some strong bitterness. Medium bodied, a little bit sticky and a perfect amount of carbonation. A very well made DIPA.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours an orange amber color with a large orange tinted head. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a good level of lace on the sides o f the glass.
Smell- The aroma is big on a bitter grapefruit smell. The grapefruit is very intense and largely overwhelms the other aromas. Some other smells do peek their way through the grapefruit hop though. Some light smells of a tropical fruit nature as well as some pine hop and caramel can be detected through the bitter grapefruit.
Taste – The taste begins with more sweetness and maltiness then would have been expected in the nose. It does however have the appropriate level of grapefruit hop taste right up front from what the nose depicted. It begins with a stronger tangerine sweet and malty flavor with some biscuit and caramel flavors as well. A rather potent sweeter grapefruit hop flavor is also present up front. The malty flavors maintain strength to the end of the taste and create a base for the hoppier flavors of the brew. As opposed to the malty flavors however the grapefruit hop flavor becomes more and more bitter in nature as some of the tangerine sweet and the caramel flavors fading from the taste. In the end, some lighter (in comparison to the grapefruit hop) pine and earthy flavors join the bitter grapefruit, with the three, ending up to produce a bitter and resinous hop flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thicker and chewier side with a carbonation level that is rather average to slightly below average. The thicker and chewier body are quite appropriate and beneficial for helping to produce a rather potently and bitter hopped brew with a in your face hop taste.
Overall – Bitter and moderately resinous with lots of hop flavor and malty tastes. A pretty decent imperial IPA, but a little too one dimensional in hop flavor for me. If you are looking for something with a over the head hop flavor, then this brew is good for you, but if looking for nice balance, then you may wish to look elsewhere.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from CBB. Pours a nice clear amber. Really hoppy aroma, pine and grapefruit with some tropical notes. Flavour isn’t as hoppy as the aroma, but great bitterness, nice fruitiness.

3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark copper color with large foamy head on the top. Very slow to dissipate with very heavy lacing. Wonderful pine aroma with hints of honey. Was expecting a bit more defined flavor and hop bitterness but still very enjoyable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
At just on cool and into a snifter. Superbly bright, translucent to the point of seeing fine print on paper across the room. Orange and sunny. Head is sudsy and loose and lasts as longs as it needs. Peachy, piney, hugely resinous and sappy nose; bounds with inklings of plump guava, grapefruit, marmalade, citronella gel, honey and urinal cakes (?). Quenching, parching and assertively bitter. Herbaceous and deeply resinous like the nose. Medium light bodied and quite lively and effervescent. Honeyish, sweet, fruit nectar upfront with low malt and a bready, doughy base. Pouty, plump, dry back end with ample tropical and pale stonefruit. Length is of burnt rubber, pine needles, grapefruit and bitter weeds. It definitely redefines the palate. Whilst supercharged it does soften and cleanse. A little too much of a good thing though. One was enough!! (65cL, no date stamp, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a clear, classic golden color with a one-finger, off-white head. Earthy, piny, and citrus hop nose. Full, wet mouthfeel with some hop heat and a fade of carbonation burn. Feels nice. There’s a peculiar, toasty and fresh pumpkiny flavor that underlies the pine and citrus hops.
