DiabolikDUB (143), Portland, Oregon, USA May 20, 2009 Poured from 22oz. Bomber into Pint glass.
Pours a crystal clear, light amber with a nice finger of white head. The aroma is straight citrus hops. Its just booming with hops and they are sticky, gooey fresh. Extremely sweet malts with a lingering citrus hop bitterness that surprisingly doesn’t stay around for too long. Its a light-medium bodied beer and its stickiness coats your mouth. Very nice beer, The aroma would make you believe that it would be more bitter than it ends up being. More of an IPA than a double IPA. jujubeast6000 (772), Houston, Texas, USA May 19, 2009 Reviewed 5/8/2009 (Bottle):
Pours a clear amber colored body, with an average sized off-white head, diminishing. Bitter, dry, extremely hoppy, sweet citrusy aroma. Sickly sweetness. Enticing. Hoppy taste, sweet. Some citrus. Not too bitter or caustic. Almost like a pale ale. agl108 (503), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA May 18, 2009 On draft at Teresa’s. Poured hazy orange in a snifter with fantastic lacing. Nice complex citrus flavor: orange, grapefruit, and some peach. Had a piney, resiny quality to it as well. This is exactly how I like my IIPAs, drinkable with a crisp hoppiness. Reminded me of the Elder Pliny. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA May 18, 2009 Bomber with Alaskanwarren. Copper, lacy off-white head. Knock-you-down fresh off the vine hop nose, reaches out and punches you in the nose before you can get your face up to the glass. Cold grapefruit, tom cat, intensely over-brewed green tea, brown sugar. Green resiny hop flavor, nettle, balsam, moth balls. Not at all overly bitter, just a juicy green hop party. Leans slightly toward the hop pellet character, but still a remarkably nice hop bomb. theisti (1638), Leawood, Kansas, USA May 18, 2009 22 oz bomber purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington. Pour is chill hazed copper golden with a thick one inch slightly off white head. Thick, sticky lacing. Aroma of giant, pine grassy resin hops. The hoppiness burst out of the bottle even while pouring. Some lemon peel in the back. Really not much malt to speak of. Taste is gritty, piney, resiney hop goodness straight forward and simple, this is a hop bomb, though the malt adds more to the backbone then the nose suggested. Malt is toasty and biscuity in the back. Finish is dry, bitter and nicely grassy. Palate is thin to medium, as mentioned bitter and dry. Hops were nice and clean in this one. jkaiser (212), Orlando, Florida, USA May 18, 2009 Top 5 beer at beerfest this weekend. The hops were so dinstinct, that after 43 other beers I still longed to try this one again. Jellobiafra (4), Port Charlotte, USA does not count May 17, 2009 Poured from a bottle...Refreshing, not too strong tasting IPA with a wonderful hoppy taste. Just enough citrus and bitterness to leave yo wanting another bottle, and another... Swalden28 (1439), McKinney, Texas, USA May 16, 2009 Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in Plano, TX. Pours a great looking gold with thick off-white head. Aroma is hoppy citrus. Flavor is nicely balanced as well, lots of hop flavor, piney, citrus, malty, seems delicate as well, nice strong bitter. Mouthfeel is medium body with medium high carbonation, it is a soft beer as well. Over all, not something to cringe at, very smooth and refreshing..........
