Rated as they categorized it as a "double/imperial IPA". First of, let me state, that my wife HATES hoppy beers. She can’t even drink a Hop Devil, and nearly gags on Green Flash West Coast IPA. She said she liked this and could drink it. That this beer is a ’99’ on RB in the Double IPA category is total fucking bullshit. This is a sweet, bubble-gummy, over malty, uninspired and quite frankly, sucky. Alllow me to quote from the BCJP style guidelines: "Hop flavor is strong and complex" Strong and complex my ass - it’s sweet and not even hoppy. "High to absurdly high hop bitterness" - where are the hops??? This tastes more like maple syrup than a regular IPA - let alone a DIPA! "A long, lingering bitterness" - there is 0, none, zero, nill, bitterness. Argh - so disappointing - not only in the beer, but the fact that many reviewers here with more beer ratings than I reviewed this so high. STOP THE INSANITY! I’d rather drink a Corona with a lime in it.

bottle. Pours a bright clear copper color, inch of thick head with loads of sticking power. Heavy, aggressive hops on the nose- plenty of grapefruit and lemon, some sticky resin. Minimal malt sweetness. Flavor follows the nose, starting with a sharp and well defined bitterness that coats the palate. Heavy, sharp grapefruit flavors stay in front of earthy sharp pine needles. Almost no malt flavor comes through the hops- some light grainy bread. Palate is thick and full, middling carbonation with a bit of lingering bitterness.

Clear golden pour with a smallish soapy looking head that diminishes almost completely in about two minutes. Decent lace. Aroma of peaches, mango, a little pine. Fuller body than I expected but wanted more, lively carbonation, prefer more bitterness from start to finish. Decent. I’ve had better.

Bottle from City Bev. Pretty awesome DIPA, right up there with the best, IMO. Enjoyed this one on the eve of my final day of class, I believe.

Bottle from TheEpeiist. Orange color. Hopoil, grapefruit and mango in the aroma. Hopbitter oily flavor with pineapple and mango. Malty sweet, raisin. Moderately long aftertaste with loads of fruit and hopbitterness. Good balance. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear golden orange with a medium white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.

The aroma is piney peppery malts.

The flavor is sweet sugary melon, salt(?), and some bready malts followed by a good sized piney slightly resiney bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some sharp carbonation.

Overall, not as good as I had hoped. It was a solid IPA, but not too interesting and what was up with the salt?

22 oz bottle, poured into a tulip glass. Clear amber with small white ring. Aroma of resinous hops, grapefruit, pine, and honey. Taste is a bit malty and sweet, with piney bite. Medium mouthfeel, with crisp carbonation, quite quenching. Nice double IPA!

twist off 22oz... gotta love the camping friendly style! coppery orange pour with an almost white head. SMELLS LIKE HOPS!... piney, leafy, orange, apricot and earthy with a subtle caramel note. not a whole bunch of depth but intoxicating nonetheless. the flavor is the same... orange pith, caramel, pine and spice with a terribly (delicious) bitter finish which lingers on the palate. it is a touch on the sweet side ... though that is oddly corrected when served on tap. bitterness, dryness and a twig like earthy character are all amplified as well fresh off the tap. medium bodied with a texture akin to heavy cream. 9/3/8/4/17/4.0
