The aroma is of big citric and moderately resinous hops over caramel malt. Medium to full-bodied with soft carbonation and a solid, bitter and slightly resinous finish. A nice balance of sweet caramel malt and citric hops (orange and blood orange) with a lingering bitter finish. At 102 IBUs, I was really pleased that this isn’t a complete slap-in-the-face of hop bitterness. Is it the best IIPA I’ve had? It’s not even close, but at $4 a bomber, this is a very nice beer/value. jeremytoni (1089), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 22, 2009 On tap at the Bavarian Lodge, Lisle, IL. for a Lagunitas tapping and sampling. Poured to a 13 oz. pub glass an orangy amber, with a silky white, foamy head and clingy, draping lace. The aroma was bright citrus as grapefruit and orange accompanied by a pleasant malt sweetness. The flavor added to these a well rounded dose of hop bitterness and some resiny notes, culminating in a nice, dry finish. Excellent balance and very enjoyable, especially for a "not too often" tap appearance. ders0 (5), , Minnesota, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 22, 2009 22oz Bomber. This beer pours a burnt orange color with a bright white head that laces the glass. Lots and lots of citrus taste in the brew. The citrus fades after a while but is still quite prevalent. When you get to the middle of the brew you really taste the bitterness and that continues to the finish. alagnak (324), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Bomber. Aroma is crisp and piney, light tropical fruit. Flavor is fruity to start (papaya and pink grapefruit) with an assualt of bitter pine and a nice grassiness in the middle. Finish is surprisingly mellowed by a nice ’wheat bread toast’ malt finish. Nice, refreshing and not a hint of the ABV.
