Appearance: pours with a large beige head, the beer is a very clear slightly darker golden color Aroma: bread, grass, pine, dank, smells good under the thick head, spicy Taste: citrus, bitter throughout, caramel malt is there but subtle, spicy warmth Palate: medium mouthfeel, average carbonation, bitter aftertaste Overall: I really like this, smells amazing and tastes delicious, I was expecting a bit more bitterness from the ibu rating but I'm not dissatisfied Overall, hides the abv well ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a pale light amber with lots of bubbles and a thick white foam head. Aroma is mostly floral hops and some citrus and caramel. Flavor is floral notes, citrus, and a big hop bite muted by the caramel malts. For as big as this is, it drinks almost crisp. Very refreshing and delicious.

Orange, clear. Medium body, light flavor, good acidity, moderate heat, avg length. Bitter, slightly sweet. Hoppy in a simplistic way, some caramel in background. Disappointing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle served in a Highland Brewing pint glass. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a moderate size near white head. The head is rather sudsy, has good retention, and leaves plenty of sticky lacing. First encounter with this one (I think). I braced myself for an extreme and challenging beer that earned the title Hop Stoopid and lists an IBU of 102. The aroma promises plenty of hops, in a complex combination that produces citrus, apricot, floral, evergreen and herbal notes, with the citrus dominant. Hoppy but thereís nothing really foreboding about the delightful hoppy aroma. Seems as great as possible for style, and great regardless of beverage. Taste?: No question; there are plenty of hops here, but thereís also a significant contribution from some sweet toasted grains that cut the bitterness back a good bit. The result is still a strong and very hoppy beer, but not what Iíd call challenging. Long lasting, and tasty aftertaste from the hops. The complex mix of hops adds interest to what can be a one-dimensional style. In addition, the malt is evident in the background. Approaches 4.5 M: The high IBU and 8% ABV contribute to a bit of harshness on the tongue, but considering these, the beer is relatively smooth. Medium carbonation. O: excellent example of DIPA style.

Found this at a bottle shop in Manhattan, NY, at my first trip in US, i think around 8-10$. Did hear of the brand before, love hoppy ales, when i saw this i had to pick it. Big surprise when itís a 100pts beer here, big expectations then. Poured light amber, clear, enormous and expanding creamy white head. Hoppy nose indeed. Aroma is sort of IPA, very thick malts backbone, caramel malt and fruity tones, grapefruit, and a smack of american hops. Taste is unexpectedly sweet, thereís a lot of malt floating around and i canít say this is a 102 IBU at all, seems to be less than half of that. But taste is well balanced anyway. Body is full, thick, very heavy. Canít feel the alcohol so much, but did its effect after a little while. Long finish. Reminds me of Dogfish 90í, very similar taste. Honestly i was expecting something more hoppy and this wasnít the case but still a rock solid and heavy duty brew that deserves a taste. Excellent IIPA

Wonderful floral, fruity, hoppy fragrance to it. Hints of different fruits, like melons of some sort. Taste is absolutely delicious! Not as bitter as you may expect at 102 ibu. Flavor also has hints of some fruitiness, and a delicious mouthful of hops ; ) This stuff is always a go-to beer! Canít go wrong with Hop Stoopid!

Nose is pine, candied citrus. Flavor is same plus some sweet crackery malt backing, moderate heat, grapefruit rind on the finish. Really solid west coast classic.
