coldbrewky (716), Saugerties, New York, USA Apr 26, 2009 Bomber via Stefanje. I bow low to you sir for this gem. Piney yet fruity nose. A glorious clear as a bell amber in the tall glass. Head is bright but ephemeral. Some lacing but not a bunch. Body is medium and chock full of hops but not i an overpowering fashion. caramel malts balance it all out. Motre fruit appears near the finsiha dnthru it. A fine beer that was enjoyed on my porch overlooking my small hop farm. Woo Hoo for Stefanje! MoDog (909), Griffith, Indiana, USA Apr 26, 2009 22oz bomber served in a tulip. This beer poured a golden amber with a one-finger thick head of beige foam that quickly settled. Some spotty lacing was left around the glass. The aroma included grapefruit and strong orange. Also some light caramel. Not quite as fragrent as I was hoping. The flavor was very nice. Not quite a 9, but maybe a bit better than an 8. Tropical fruit, pine, and an abundance of fresh grapefruit notes. Piney and herbal. A lingering bitterness continued after each drink. Very nice. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied and had light to moderate carbonation. A solid IPA. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Apr 25, 2009 tart citrus flavor, bitter resinous piney finish. Very grapefruity and fresh. not overly malty and sweet, but definetely more than an ipa. blklab2007 (932), Connecticut, USA Apr 25, 2009 bottle poured a golden color with a big fluffy white head that laced the glass well. aroma has pine, citrus, sweetness, and resin. has a sharp fresh nose. mouth feel is medium and coats well with hefty carbonation. flavor has plenty of hop flavors(citrus, pine, grapefruit, and bitterness), balancing sweetness, and enough malt to stand up to this. the beer is big and hopped but not overly bitter. has a nice lingering finish. HolidayBeerGuy (50), Detroit, Michigan, USA Apr 25, 2009 22oz. bottle, pours clear gold, small white head, deeply piney aroma, easily drinkable for 102 IBU, big grapefruit, citrus permeates, finish is surprisingly crisp, clean. Nicely done Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Apr 25, 2009 Pours a lovely bright amber-orange with great head and lacing. Aromatic. Bright fruity hops, papaya esters, tangelo, some earthiness in the background lingering. Body is surprisingly quaffable. Does have a little sweet cloying thing at the end but not in any offensive way. Hop flavors are mainly earthy with just a hint of fruit, which is just the opposite of the aromas. At first quite nice and not too intense. Grows stickier, heavier, and duller towards the end of the glass. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Apr 24, 2009 Crushed with Jakebra. Yup. Definitely a hop stupid beer. Hops and more than that. Just an awesome brew. Full-bodied, just plain awesome. drjay44 (757), Salida, Colorado, USA Apr 24, 2009 22 oz. bottle. 8% ABV. 102 I.B.U. O.G. 1.085 Pours a lovely thick tan head of good duration, with nice lacing, over a clear dark (SRM 15) golden body.....nose roars with resin, pine, grapefruit.....tastes of sweet malts early, then heavy resin, grapefruit flavors arrive and carry through to a surprisingly mild bitter finish, there is sweet malt in the back ground throughout....mouth feel is thick and heavy, carbonation medium. I wonder if the F.G. was about 1.020.
