A clear amber beer with a small white head that doesn’t last, but surprisingly effervescent, like champagne. The aroma is great: all hops, quite sweet and fruity (strawberry, cherry, apple). The flavor is unmistakably fruity, mostly grapefruit. Amazing hop flavor, I’m guessing lots of cascade. Finishes with hop bitterness but not as severe as some DIPAs, and no trace of alcohol heat. They must have gone crazy with the dry hopping.

Ah finally got around to trying it. Was a bit surprised to see that they used a hop extract. I still get a vegetative type taste from the beer which I thought was associated with whole cone. Got a lovely hop aroma and the foam has a high bitterness. Its a lovely dark ale in color and has good head retention. Proper level of carbonation. And I’m a huge hop fan, so the flavor is just what I’m looking for. It was recommended to me and I shall recommend it. Definitely going for another.

Reddish copper hued beer, with a large thick and frothy eggshell white head. Lashings of lace Very vital citric aroma, mostly orangy but lemon and lime are there, also herbal. Citric hop flavours mainlly, drying at the end, but this sure has a huge malt backing, its just that the hoppping is even huger! The bitter after taste is not as long lasting as I imagined. Very nice mouthfeel to it. A substantial brew in every manner, but strangely drinkable! I had no problems polishing off a bomber.

Bottle. Stone IPA glass. Copper color with small white head that dissipates quickly. A tremendous citrus aroma full of tangerine, grapefruit, orange and lemon assaults the nose. Really enjoyable. As it warms up, some malt sweetness comes through. Flavor is full of citrus with a little pine and herbal notes. Biscuit malt shows up later. Not a palate wrecker by any means as bitterness is restrained. Nicely carbonated but a little watery. Less sweet then other DIPAs, which is a good thing.

Bottle: Drank with my old man over dinner, he brought it back to El Salvador from San Diego, CA. IPAs are quickly becoming my favorites and this brew is great. Floral aroma with citrus, grassy, herbal notes. Taste is oily and resin bitter, starts hoppy and lets malts come through as it warms.

Bottle Pours a clear light amber with a good lasting white head. The head produces very good lacing. Has a good healthy aroma of pine and grapefruit. Has good carbination and a wonderful mouthfeel. A watery texture and a medium body. This has awesome flavors and a good bitterness. A good finish. As an IPA lover I really enjoyed this one.

Amber pour with 1 finger of white head. Pronounced hop aroma of pine and citrus, perhaps a tad strong. Has a nice hoppy flavor that parallels the aroma, although the aroma does overpower a little. Clean finish. Nice body. Liked this beer but not my favorite double IPA.

22 oz. bottle from Grape & Gourmet. Pours dark orange with a thin white head. Big piney hop aroma that does not fade quickly. Flavor is pine and grapefruit. Moderate malt sweetness. The palate is a bit thin, not the sticky type of DIPA I am used to. Overall the flavor is certainly there but the palate lacks a bit. An excellent DIPA and probably the best offering from Lagunitas I have had to date.
