Lagunitas Hop Stoopid is a crystal clear light amber ale with a dense, foamy, oily white head that leaves solid, dense sheets of foam on the glass. It has a bright, strong, hoppy aroma of grapefruit and pine that’s a touch sweet and possibly floral. It has a fluffy medium body that’s lively with a dry finish. It’s nicely bittered and very lightly sweet. This is a full flavored and refreshing beer. The flavor is mostly citrus and pine, but there seems to be a grassy, floral nuance to it. It’s more flavorful than it is bitter, but it is quite bitter. It has a long, green aftertaste. This is how an IPA should be! Wow! This bomber was, like, four bucks!

22 oz bomber. Pours dark clear orange. White head that sort of lingers. Lacing is pretty pretty. Aroma of grapefruit on steroids (just after a 2 hour long workout). Tastes like biting into a grapefruit/flower flavored pineapple. Taste lingers on the palate, daring you to take another sip. Aftertaste becomes stronger and stronger grapefruit/hops. I don’t know how they did it, but this beer is like you favorite IPA, except on steroids. Watch out, you might get hooked!

(Rating #2295)

Sampled at the Impromptu Butter’s 6th cellar clearance. Clear orange pour with ring of white head. Massive pineapple hop aroma could not improve in any way. Flavor is full and fruity pineapple and bitter and sweet. This is a phenomal Imp IPA. Great name and terrific price.

Pours an off-white head with a clover honey color body. Smells like grapefruit. Sweet and fruity hops giving notes of apricot, pineapple, and grapefruit. Very nice.

Pours an amber color with a 2 finger white, full head. Aroma is big hops. Taste is floral and earthy hops. Strong hop taste lingers for a while after a sip. Mouthfeel is fairly thick and oily and just right. Exceptional beer.

Very full and rich aroma, colored dark copper. Rather thick on the palate, but overall decent. Initial flavor includes an explosion of hops, but lingers on the tongue and continues to give more citrus and floral hop character, a really pleasure to drink. Amazing for the price!
