dogfish120love (250), west hartford, Connecticut, USA Mar 25, 2009 Pours an illuminating gold and redish orange, with two finger fluffy white head. Sweet and bitter hop aroma, with a huge citrusy grapefruit nose, caramel and pine as well. Huge hop bite, grapefruit, caramel, but not overly complex. Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Mar 25, 2009 Pours amber with a white head. Smells of citrus (both sweet and tarte), spicy, resiny. Tastes very astringent and spicy with an over the top resiny finish. Not my thing. roborb (59), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Mar 24, 2009 Served into a tulip from a bomber this beer pours a nice golden orange hue with a 1 finger head that stays on the glass from start to finish. The smell is fantastic. I could pick up strong grapefruit notes, honey, and pine perhaps. The taste is bitter at first with a good sweetness to mellow it out. As this beer warms I am really liking how it becomes lighter on the palate. This is a fantastic Double IPA and should be bought when found. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Mar 24, 2009 Bomber bottle, though it lacks the Sonoma Farmhouse portion of the label. What little room near the top of my aventinus glass left a cone of off-white creamy head that impressively stood 1/2 inch above the glass rim without loosing its shape and hurtling over the edge. Holy smokes, is the aroma good. Orange creamy hops that remind me of a hoppy dreamsicle. The taste is nice, but the malts dominate the flavor. Not until the bitter finish do the hops I like so much reappear for a lingering bitter finish. This is damn near perfect - just needs a lot less malt in the flavor and a lot more hop instead. But then again, I’m a hop whore... bconley (351), Fern Park, Florida, USA Mar 23, 2009 Bomber Bottle. Holy Cow. Destroys my tastebuds..and by destroy I mean makes sweet love to them, and doesn’t call the next day....and doesn’t return text messages or e-mails......sobs. Extremely good DIPA, especially for the price. Woot malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Mar 23, 2009 22 ounce bottle in pint glass. (What’s with the snifter recommendation for everything?) Golden with lasting head and full lace. Extremely piney resiny grapefruit aroma with mild toasted honey biscuit. Mild toasted honey with floral grapefruit candy sweet fruitiness and tangy citrus bitterness. Lighter than expected body, very drinkable and refreshing and delicious. Not astringent or bitter-for-the-sake-of-being bitter. This is not a hop-novelty. Awesome. More please. taalhiker (179), Dayton, Ohio, USA Mar 23, 2009 From bottle. Strong fruit and hops aroma. Full mouthfeel. Great value - $6/bomber. Definitely worth the money. bvc (227), Kenmore, Washington, USA Mar 22, 2009 Fresh 22oz bomber that I picked up a couple of days ago. Pours a deeper golden yellow with a good white head that laces my glass nicely. Nose is resiny hops with grapefruit, pineapple and some floral presence. This one isn’t as sweet as I like, but does have plenty of bittering hops. I really enjoy this brew from Lagunitas and you can’t beat the price. Solid DIPA for sure.
