pete4999 (121), Buffalo, New York, USA Oct 6, 2009 Bottle. Awesome. Orange-brown pour, with off-white head that leaves nice islands. Smells....like you’d expect an IPA to. Citrusy with a biting, hoppy scent. No lack of hops here. It does a great job of balancing the bitterness while having a bit of wheaty, "farmhouse" flavor at the same time. It’s almost as though the bitterness is a background...it’s there, but it’s not "in your face" and the only thing you taste. Very, very good beer. jahmokie (14), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 5, 2009 pours a lovely burnt orange with a fluffy white head. aroma is lemon peel with some grapefruit notes. wonderful flavor with more citrus notes and woody flavors. one of the best deals out there as i paid under five bucks for a bomber. cheers. yalnikim (776), Wellington, New Zealand Oct 4, 2009 28/08/2009. Lunch break at Beervana 2009. Shared a 750ml bottle with friends. The comment "It smells like diff oil" will always stand out... stoopid, yes, but it feels manly to drink it. Like working on your car, or bike... whatever. Great IIPA, ridiculously drinkable and without loosing its ridiculousness. Nena (121), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 4, 2009 Updated: Nov 2, 2009Pours a clear orange amber with a thick white head. Aroma is grapefruit and mandarin orange. Has a delicious hop heavy flavor that starts with sweet malt and orange and ends with a more resinous finish. This stuff is a great value. MOboy (446), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Oct 2, 2009 A golden ale with a full, rocky foam that could balance a nickel. Grass, citrus, and slight waterproofing spray. Bready malts and bitter astringentcy. This is simply a big beer full of hops, alcohol and bread. No depth, no nuance and no love but damn, it’s tastey. DuffManSW (283), Riverside, California, USA Sep 30, 2009 Bottle from La Bodega...Pours Golden with a white head...Aroma is citrus and floral hops with some caramel.. Caramel and honey sweetness up front with a long lasting citrus bitterness.. This thing really is stoopid hoppy. CanIHave4Beers (838), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Sep 26, 2009 Updated: Sep 28, 2009"Farmhouse" makes me think of something more rustic than this, but it’s delicious never the less. :Pours a very light orange color, fairly clear with a medium head and some lace. The aroma is packed with fresh hops some citrus and ginger, I love it when they touch each other. Grapefruit is the dominant aroma though. Flavor is wonderfully hoppy with enough balance to make it particularly drinkable grapefrut; some melon, and some citrus rind play fairly serious lead roles in this flavor symphony; not to mention the bit of fruity malt that lends it’s hand in making this beer delicious and well balanced. I opened this bottle with high expectations that were easily met. rader58 (166), Leawood, Kansas, USA Sep 24, 2009 Pours a clear honey color. Aroma of Citrus, Pine with a slight floral nose. Powerful bite on the back of the tongue. Very hoppy, but more floral and citrus.Quite good.
