hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Mar 8, 2009 Bottle from New Beer. Golden in color with some orange highlights, medium off white head. Aroma of fresh sticky hops- orange, mango, grapefruit, fresh and resinous. Taste is full of fresh, resinous hops, alot of tropical fruit, mild pine, and some mild malty sweetness in the back. A nice IIPA that gives me a new perspective on hop extracts..... JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Mar 8, 2009 22oz bottle. Cloudy orange copper color with a medium off-white head. Hoppy aroma with orange and grapefruit notes and a malt balance. Flavor is incredibly citrusy with a touch of malty sweetness for balance. A far cry from Maximus and that’s a good thing. jrmac (210), USA Mar 8, 2009 Beer poured a golden amber color with thick white foam. Smells of pine cones, citrus, and other fruit. Taste is surprisingly smooth for a beer with this level of bitterness. Still a little thinner then I was expecting. daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Mar 7, 2009 Bottle from the ever generous stefanje. Sparkling clear gold pour with a nice white head. Aroma is full of mango, grapefruit and some honey orange notes. Flavor is wonderful. Malty, hoppy, and fucking delicious. Hops are present but the malt is present and wonderful...great beer. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Mar 6, 2009 Pours copper with s nice off white head. Aroma is pine and grapefruit hops. Malt is there but lurking in a corner. Pretty bitter up front with a long finish. Fairly dry and refreshing. The best brew by far from Lagunitas...IMO. This bottle says 7.7 ABV MatSciGuy (629), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA Mar 5, 2009 [Bottle] Pours a crystal clear amber with a finger of beige head. Aroma is purely hops with only a touch of malts. Lots of grapefruit and a bit of dank pine and other resins. Flavor is nice and rich, full of hops and just enough malt backbone so that it’s not too sweet. Remarkably dry finish. Great buy at $5 per bomber. Hoptagon (132), Arlington, Virginia, USA Mar 5, 2009 22oz. Bomber. Honey orange color with minimal foam and lacing. Aroma is assertive and floral with orange blossoms, grapefruit and a bit of pine. Flavor is impressively hoppy, but not overly bitter. Malt kicks in towards the end with the crystal malts contributing a sweet caramel flavor. Body is relatively light and almost oily for the style with a somewhat higher than average carbonation. Citrusy tasting hops really shine from the beginning to the end. Goes out with a quick, dry bitterness. Get some if you can. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Mar 4, 2009 Bomber courtesy of JCB – thanks J! Pours a clear amber with a 2 finger foamy beige head. The nose is fresh citrus, pine and caramel. The taste is tangerine, mango, and caramel with a ripe pink grapefruit finish. Medium bodied. Very good – tons of sweet citrus and caramel in this one. Thanks again J!
