Pours out in a hazy orange colour with with a low sticky white head. Rich yet quite simplistic hop aroma of orange-peels, lemon-zest and cat pee. Medium-bodied with strong dryish notes of white grapefruit, lemon n-zest, grass, neutral yeast and that cat thing....you know. Long bitter finish of grapefruit, grass and peppery alcohol. Tasty and peculiar stuff. Boliv (189), New York, USA

Aroma of pine, citrus, and floral hops, with some caramel present. Bitter hop bite initially, grapefruit rind and grass, but balanced by a sweet malt backbone. Lots of citrus and pine, caramel, and dried fruits; some tropical fruit present too, mango and papaya. Somewhat thick mouthfeel, pretty smooth, and a touch of alcohol that remains hidden by the lingering bitterness. A thin veil of creamy lacing on remains. Good stuff. Taste was bitter-sweet, citrusy, and initially dry. Slight oily feel on the back end. Good but not great. thedm (3834), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 12, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a very large sized head of foamy white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent uncarbonated orange colored body. The nice aroma was hoppy. The clean thick mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish hoppy aftertaste. The smooth flavor contained notes of hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. SuIIy (1427), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

More apricot then grapefruit. HInt of mango. Palate is full bodied with a nice film and a finish in the throat of light stinging. Flavors are fruity hop notes, bitterness, and a sticky mouthfeel. puggy211 (584), cordova, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 11, 2009 Bottle. Fluffy white head rests atop amber-gold. Aroma is piney, grapefruit, and freshly cut grass on a hot day, which also happens to be something with which this beer would go very well. For something at 102 IBUs, allegedly, I expected this beer to be abusively hoppy, but instead it’s pretty well balanced with sweet honey-like malt and the 8% ABV. Pleasant spicy notes bounce around in the flavor as well. Nice and smooth palate, with a fairly low carbonation level, or at least that’s how it seems to me. That’s not necessarily bad. If you’re looking for a nice hop bomb that still has a bit of balance, this is a good one. MrRoss (617), Delta, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 11, 2009 A damned fine beer. Clear copper body with a creamy ivory head. Lots of hop in the aroma and a ton of hop in the taste. Simply delicious. Smooth mouthfeel and smooth finish. No issues with the high ABV. Deluxe all the way. fidelis83 (712), Clinton, Iowa, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 6, 2009 Pours peachy medium amber with a 1-2 finger creamy eggshell head. Aroma is grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, sweet caramel, light pine, strawberry, lemon drop, biscuit, white bread and a little sweeter cereal grain. Flavor is caramel, biscuit, citrus, woody pine, vanilla pudding, lots of sweet malts, some biscuit, blood orange, a light sour malt note, underripe pineapple and bread crust, gets a little sweeter more floral and biscuit-ier as it warms. Palate is medium bodied with a moderate to light carbonation and syrupy, then creamy then oily feel before a slightly dry finish. Good stuff, probably the best Lagunitas brew that I have had, decent as fas as IIPA’s go.
