Appearance is golden and cloudy, with minimal slightly off white foam cap that dissipated fairly quickly. Aroma is typical for IPA with more earthy and pine tones, not as intense or enjoyable as some other high IBU IPAs. Taste is sweet malt at first with an immediate bitter kick that lasts long thru the finish. Not entirely balanced as the hops overpower the malt base, and I honestly expected more from this. Might not have been at optimal freshness.

All around enjoyable brew, nice golden hew color, yellowish frothy head that dissipated rather quickly leaving a light lace at the rim of the pour. The nose is fabulous hoppy. bready and caramel aroma’s . Very pleasant and easy to drink.

Look: pours a cold hazy gold. Bright white head that doesn't stay around long. But leaves thick lacing on the glass. Smell: decimate dank smell up front. Fruit gum. Slight pine. Taste: very hop forward beer. Very light fruit gum (juicy fruit) flavor. Definite dank flavor. Pine and a pepper flavor as it warms up. Flower smell as it warms. Feel: Leaves a film on your mouth. Makes you want another drink after you finish one. Very dry. Medium carbonation. Overall: not a bad beer. Extremely bitter. Slight sweetness in the after taste.

Draft pour at special brews lagunitas night. Pours copper with a lasting head. Probably the piniest aroma of any beer I’ve tried. A lot of citrus flavor going on here. Super hoppy as expected. Semi sweet finish. Doesn’t stand out as a top IPA for me necessarily, but solid overall. Good stuff.

The body has a nice deep golden color with good clarity and plenty of active carbonation. The aroma has bright citrus hops with notes of grapefruit and lemon over some nice spruce like piney notes. I am also picking up some sweet grain and alcohol. Its medium to full body body starts with citrusy grapefruit and lemon hop flavor notes sweetened buy an almost candy like malt and alcohol. This sweetness slowly fades and the bitterness from the hops builds. The hop flavor notes turn to freshly cut spruce pine, resin and herbal bitterness which hangs onto the tongue and lingers long into the finish.

A tremendous double IPA. Great flavors of citrus/grapefruit, pine, some floral notes, and hops obviously. In addition, a little sweetness with caramel/toffee mixed in. One of my favorites.

Brilliantly clear golden amber colour with thin-medium white head and good lacing. Hop aroma burst out of the glass before my nose even got close to the glass. Sprightly pine and spicy notes are followed by aromas of grapefruit and apricots. Medium oily body. It isn’t harshly bitter despite the 102 IBU, with a nice mildly sweet biscuity malt backing. Finish is nicely rounded with a pleasant touch of alcohol warmth. A real beauty.

Bottle. Orange, grapefruit peel, and toffee malt aroma. Golden yellow with nice head. Funky orange malt and moderately bitter cat pee/pine flavor. Nicely blended. Funky.

No kidding, this is a blast of hoppy bitterness that is just terrific. Strong maltiness on the finish. Great aroma. This is a big beer.

Another well balanced Lagunita’s offering. Apparently this was supposed to be a double IPA which I didn’t know until I finished the bottle and read the description on rate beer. Definitely a good one, bitterness overpowering the hop flavors to a small extent but fantastic profile.
