I thought that this was a very good beer, but not quite excellent. Well hopped, with a piney rather than citrus profile dominating. Decent not overwhelming hop backbone, and decent mouthfeel. A very nice beer, and one that I wish I had more of in the fridge.

This is the same review I wrote for Maximus IPA as I find both of these beers very similar, but Hop Stoopid scores a bit higher as it is just a little bit better and slightly more intense: One of my most favourite beers in the world. IPAs donít get much better than this. The strongly flavored biscuity malt supports the big citrusy and subtlety piney hops so perfectly without being too thick or cloying. This beer has it all.. Itís refreshing, satisfying and impressively sessionable for such high ABV. Genius creation.

Pours a hazy orange color with a one-finger head. Strong fruity hop aroma and smooth taste. Another great one from Lagunitas! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at Strong Ale Festival 2014. Comes a mostly clear dark gold with a nice off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, and malt. Taste is citrus, tropical, pine, and malt. Very good.

A great, reasonably available, go to beer. Beautiful lacing and nice smooth aftertaste. We need more beers like this.

0,65l bottle @ Metro, Lahti. Pours cloudy golden with a medium head. Aroma is malts with plenty of fresh hops. Like standing at a hop farm. Flavor is malts, some fruits and plenty of hops, in flavor and bitterness. Great.

From a bomber...pours a dark golden color with heavy lacing and a 1" head. Aroma is of citrus and pine. Taste is citrus with alcohol bursting through at end. This tends to be hit or miss, sometimes above average but more often than not an alcohol bomb... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at the drygate. Pours clear amber, merest white head. Big resin and pine aromas, caramel in the background. Taste us bitter, but decent malt balance. Slightly prickly carbonation makes it easy drinking for the strength. Nice.

For a double ipa this one is pretty drinkable. That could be dangerous if I was out drinking these on tap. I may end up stumbling around black out portions of the night guy. Drinking this 22 one bomber at home where Iím safe.

Poured into a tulip, medium sized white head that fades quickly and leaves good lacing on the glass. Aroma of lots of citrus, lemon being the most forward. Taste is great and not too bitter or boozy for a DIPA. A new favorite after just a few sips.
