Hoppy, floral smell, beautiful golden blonde look, great bitter taste but not as bitter as you would think with 102 IBU’s. ABV is weak, needs a little more imo, not my favorite double IPA, but certainly a good one.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a snifter. The color is that of honey, and a thick white head of approximately 1 inch quickly forms. Nice sheeting on the glass. Aroma is pine, citrus and light floral. Moderately bitter, medium body, and sticky, with average carbonation. Soft bitter finish that lingers. Very refreshing.

Warner at Sherlock’s Decatur assured me that despite the slight lack of freshness, this beer’s huge IBU count would keep it feeling fresh. I think he was right. Pours clear honey amber with white head and strong lacing. Scent is booze, hay, and earth. Bitter as all hell, but does not finish quite as sweet as I like for this style. Good beer and always around. Bottle - Sherlock’s - Decatur, GA

650 ml. bottle purchased in Ladysmith, British Columbia. Pours a beautiful honey brown- lively copper colour. Head is approximately one finger and leaves a generous lacing around the glass. Aroma: strong pine, mint, marijuana, resin, leaves, floral. Taste: strong hops, apricot, alcohol, grapefruit, grass, pine, wheat, barley. Beautiful caramel, bread, toffee, syrup, and biscuit malt backbone. Palate is fruity and dry- with a lingering hop finish that is beautifully complemented by the malt backbone. Oily body, and a very lively mouthfeel. An all around fantastic DIPA.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2013 crystal clear amber, large rocky white head with good retention and lots of lacing. pineapple, tangerine, stone fruit, lemon, onion, grass, caramel. very bitter, medium sweet. medium body, oily feel, medium carb, long and bitter finish. used to be my favorite double ipa, but as i’ve had more of them it’s been replaced. still a really solid beer at the ~$4.50/22oz price point.

Pours amber/golden, with small white head. Smells of hops, tangerine, and flowers. Tastes sweet and citrus on the front with hops and bitter on the back end. Mild carbonation with a semi-short lasting flavor.

Has a amber color to it. The aroma isn’t too strong but is full of hops. Has a delicious pine bitterness with a fantastic aftertaste, highly recommend.
