A - Pours a clear burnt amber with a moundy head and sticky lacing. S - Citrus hops jump right out with firm grapefruit bitterness, The pale malt is bready with notes of caramel and toffee. Strong floral notes coma out as it warms. T - Bittering hops upfront, pithy grapefruit with a black tea like bitterness. Resinous hops oils, grassy and piny, with a sweet honey bread malt backbone. Bitterness is firm from front to back with an earthy bitter dry finish. M - Low to medium body and ample carbonation. An awesome imperial at a fantastic price point. This proves that quality beer does not have to be super expensive. Serving type: bottle 03-02-2013

Clear radiant orange with big frothy lasting white head. Great big balanced bitter sweet full body. Outpaces a lot of the forgettable new wave IPA’s. Loaded! Just stoopid! Boom... In 20 Years people will look at this like people look at Rochefort.

I can drink this all day long. I paid $4 for a 22 oz. Very affordable It is very hoppy and has above average drinkability. I feel like I can mow the lawn and drink several of these. Top class! Cheers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft to pint at Dutch’s. Looks good; a fairly transparent pale burnt orange with foamy off-white head. Smells of pine and citrus hops with a medium-bodied bittersweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Good beer.

Aroma is strong citrus, led by grapefruit. Lots of hop bitterness, as indicated by the bottle. Strong bready malts. Appearance is a clear golden clear with a white foam head and good lacing. Taste leads with strong grapefruit, pine hops, and some strong bitterness. Medium bodied, a little bit sticky and a perfect amount of carbonation. A very well made DIPA.

Transfer from BA review on 3-31-13- Poured from a bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours an orange amber color with a large orange tinted head. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a good level of lace on the sides o f the glass. Smell- The aroma is big on a bitter grapefruit smell. The grapefruit is very intense and largely overwhelms the other aromas. Some other smells do peek their way through the grapefruit hop though. Some light smells of a tropical fruit nature as well as some pine hop and caramel can be detected through the bitter grapefruit. Taste – The taste begins with more sweetness and maltiness then would have been expected in the nose. It does however have the appropriate level of grapefruit hop taste right up front from what the nose depicted. It begins with a stronger tangerine sweet and malty flavor with some biscuit and caramel flavors as well. A rather potent sweeter grapefruit hop flavor is also present up front. The malty flavors maintain strength to the end of the taste and create a base for the hoppier flavors of the brew. As opposed to the malty flavors however the grapefruit hop flavor becomes more and more bitter in nature as some of the tangerine sweet and the caramel flavors fading from the taste. In the end, some lighter (in comparison to the grapefruit hop) pine and earthy flavors join the bitter grapefruit, with the three, ending up to produce a bitter and resinous hop flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thicker and chewier side with a carbonation level that is rather average to slightly below average. The thicker and chewier body are quite appropriate and beneficial for helping to produce a rather potently and bitter hopped brew with a in your face hop taste. Overall – Bitter and moderately resinous with lots of hop flavor and malty tastes. A pretty decent imperial IPA, but a little too one dimensional in hop flavor for me. If you are looking for something with a over the head hop flavor, then this brew is good for you, but if looking for nice balance, then you may wish to look elsewhere.

Bottle. Nicely hoppy and complex, citrus and pine notes, a little bit of tropical fruit and some subtle herbs. Fairly sweet. Quite a nice DIPA.

Bottle from CBB. Pours a nice clear amber. Really hoppy aroma, pine and grapefruit with some tropical notes. Flavour isn’t as hoppy as the aroma, but great bitterness, nice fruitiness.
