3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Does not smell as hoppy as the name would suggest. Aroma also contains pine, grapefruit and malt sweetness, but it is all subdued. Golden color, lighter than most other DIPA’s I have seen. Giant ivory colored stubborn head that leaves a ton of lacing and stays thick for a long time. The taste is hop bitterness and malt sweetness alternating between one another brilliantly. The citrus that is faintly present in the aroma comes through in a huge way in the flavor. Very refreshing. Great slick palate, long lasting slightly bitter aftertaste. Quite possibly the best palate I have experienced in an IPA. Glad I tried this one; as an added bonus, it was one of the cheapest 22 oz. bottles as the Wine and Cheese Place.

Keg at Euston Tap, London. Slight hazy light orange shade. Thin white cap. To me this tastes almost like the archetypal DIPA in my mind, with the powerful bitterness of grapefruit hops deployed over a bed of caramel malt, but very balanced and drinkable for the strength. Good stuff.

Large Bottle - Golden hay color with a large white head that stayed a long time. Citrus, orange aromas on the nose. Lots of bitter hops flavor swirling around in my tongue.

Great offering but a little bit on the watery side. Wish the flavor came through a little more. Not up to Lagunitas usual standards.

Keg at London Fields, amber and bright with a fast-settling head, pine and citrus nose, malty and bitter with hints of peach, resin, honey and something herbal and faintly peppery. Amazingly well balanced and scarily drinkable.
