Taste is the same with an excellent body. This beer definitely used the perfect amount of malts to balance the outrageous hops. arminjewell (229), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Rather thick on the palate, but overall decent. Initial flavor includes an explosion of hops, but lingers on the tongue and continues to give more citrus and floral hop character, a really pleasure to drink. Amazing for the price! Great head retention! Perfume, ripe fruit, pine, resin, grass, and slight floral notes fill out the nose. Medium carbonation with a medium rich, slightly sticky mouthfeel. Pineapple, peach, honey, a bit of earthy malt, grass, and spruce on the palate. Strong bitterness to balance out the hefty malt sweetness. It may have 100+ IBUs, but it balances pretty damn well. Great lacing all the way down the glass. This is one of the best IIPAs I’ve ever had. hopalpeno (1), East Bay, California, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 15, 2009 amber, clear, frothy, white foam, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour, medium body, sticky, lively, bitter, drseusszb200 (219), Florida, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 12, 2009 (22oz bottle) Pours a rusty orange with a nice 1 finger head. Great retention and big bubbles resting on top. Nose is oat, grass, grapefruit and piney hops. The flavor is grapefruit and pine hop combination but absolutely no bitter linger. Slight caramel here, but the malt backbone interrupts any chance this 100+ IBU beer has to linger on your palette. This beer may have the best oily mouthfeel I’ve ever had. Superbly balanced. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 11, 2009 A damned fine beer. Clear copper body with a creamy ivory head. Lots of hop in the aroma and a ton of hop in the taste. Simply delicious. Smooth mouthfeel and smooth finish. No issues with the high ABV. Deluxe all the way. jah noth (1023), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Lemon/lime centennl aroma wafts above the gleaming amber ale with a hug rocky head. Juicy citrus like biting into a slice of grapefruit, slight caramel with no hint of alcohol. Slightly creamy and tingly. This is a gret DIPA and a fine offering from lagunitas.
