Good body strength, good and strong malt flavor without being thick, excellent hopping, resiny and a bit citrusy; and of course the final is very strong and long, not only biter and resiny but also sweet. Monodimensional, but in the direction that I like. cathcacr (596), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 19, 2009 Extreme hop pungency highlights every aspect of this beer, from aroma, flavor and palate right down to the appearance. Many hops died in the production of this monster, but as some evils go, it was necessary to break a few eggs to make this omelet. Extra kudos due to the brewer for its homage to a great classic rock band on its label blurb. Pungency was not my thing at the time of rating, so I may have underrated it. If hop-pungency and drying bitterness is right up your alley, you will be pleased.

Intense honeyed pine and citric hop aromas warm to softer notes of tangerine and spruce. Supper hopped pine and citrus flavors flow into a slight herbal-like sweetness. Full bodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish. A great hop fix... Braudog (3789), Dayton, Ohio, USA

The aroma hints at a nice oily hoppiness and that’s what you get. Resiny with a tight citrus-floral character. Leaves a nice filmy reminder behind on the palate. Very nice. The nose is spicy and hoppy with earthy and piny/grapefruit notes (amarillo, centennial, columbus). The mouthfeel is mellow like cask. Balanced tail and mostly dry hopped. Snappy and fresh SDPA. egajdzis (3645), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 9, 2007 Poured a clear amber color with a medium sized off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, herb, orange rind, floral hops, and light caramel malts. Taste was bitter, with slightly tart citrus, bitter orange peel, light nuts, toffee malts, and a dry, grapefruit finish. Nicely attenuated with low alcohol. guzzler67 (1289), Hanover, Maryland, USA

Citrus hop aroma that blossoms after setting a bit, with resinous notes chiming in as well. Modestly sweet maltiness sets the stage for the star of the show - fruity, citrusy, piney hops. Not tastebud numbing, but delicious. Full bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel, with a lingering, lasting, dry finish. A great value. willblake (2191), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 20, 2009 20090320 Bomber from Spirits RB. Brassy golden color with small, tight white head that laces in thin rings. Aroma is mostly grapefruity hops with a bit of lemongrass, basil, and pine. Medium bodied but coating and fluffy with nice eff. Bitter from front to back and lingering with a great floral perfumed and pithy bite that lasts. Flavor adds some very light shortbread malts, more like a very juicy and sweet pink grapefruit. Dangerously quaffable and at five bucks a bomber it could easily make for a bit of trouble. Lagunitas has a few dogs in the lineup but beers like this plus their affordable price range make these worth the risk, no questions asked, if a new one shows up on the shelves.
