22oz bottle. Light amber with tight bubbled amble head. Aroma is loads of citrus, particularly grapefruit but also some floral notes. Hop explosion the whole way through. Crisp, malt not bogging down the hops like in many high IBU beers, nor detracting alcohol flavors. Body carries the flavor well. An excellent IPA

Pours hazy golden-orange with minimal head. Nice citrusy aroma with a bit of sweet fruitiness and slight caramel notes. Flavor is abundantly hoppy and resinous, with tons of pithy grapefruit, lemon, and orange notes. Nice dry finish. I havent been overly impressed with Lagunitas in the past, but this one is very good.

This is about as good as it gets, right here. Nice golden/amber color. Aroma is pure grapefruit. Nice piny, floral hops. A little dry, but still, this beer is exquisite. Top 10 IIPA for me. This is as good as Hopsickle, Hopslam, Pure Hoppiness and Yulesmith. Best part? $4.29 a bomber. Words alone cannot express my respect for Lagunitas. Hop shortage be damned.

hahah! 102 IBU? Killer. How can one go wrong with that? Poured out a very nice apricotty gold crystal clear brew. If you look closely you can see tiny molecules shaped like hop buds... or is that my imagination? Perfectly sized off white / light tan head, thick and slowly receding. Another swirl creates a deep cap and hop happy bubbles dance in my glass. Splotchy lacing. My nose is being pampered with the swirling aromas of thick aprioranectareaches, grapefruits, pine, sweet subdued caramel, floral notes and pineapples. I just poured the rest of the first bottle into my glass and then ate 2 mouthfulls of beer foam. Now, when is the last time you ate beer foam? And was it good? Of course it wasn’t. Well then, you need to eat this foam - intentionally. It truly was excellent. I actually ate it so I could get closer to the liquid hidden far beneath. The taste is truly excellent. A sweet fruity elixir greeted my with a friendly hello and then began to implode my insides with a non-lethal hop injection. The massive hops are so well done here - keeping very fruity masking what could have been a stomach full of leafy, characterless hops. Thick, heavy citrus (no lemon) that includes the now famous aprioranectareaches, mild unsweetend grapefruit, a stiff but secondary pine bite, smooth malts keep this savage in check, pineapple again, the pine leans towards juniper if you know what I mean. Sooo drinkable and, hey, no notice of the 7.7% what so ever. Yea, lots of thick flavours are there when warmer but I preferred this a bit colder - it kept away the syrupy quality better. Light medium bodied, leans towards a thick mouth coating. The malts remain as the soft, gentle undercarridge that allow the drool initiating hop flavours to stay afloat without getting to unruly. Tons of bitterness, obviously, so much beyond the ability of your body to recognize. Excellent, excellent beer. I enjoyed this so much. I love hops, dammit. I’d marry them if I could but I think the wedding night in the room would be a tad disappointing....

Aroma is dank orange hops, lots of residual sugar, a bit of fresh grapefruit rind, and malt. Wow. Smells like a nice barleywine. Apperance is golden mead with scant, quickly disappearing head. Taste is initially all oranges, but slowly gives way to a pine bitterness and malt sweetness that is very well in-balance for the style. Lots of backbone on this one, surprisingly. Perhaps underattenuated? There is a lot of gravity here, but a lower than expected alcohol level just going by taste and past experience. Second taste brings more grapefruit rind into play with the sharp carbonation and crisp, sweet malt backbone. Simple, but very, very nice. Finish is not very cloying, and lingers decently well with the rind bitterness. This is very, very nice.

Sampled at the Newtown Brewfest from the bottle. Deep amber color with decent head. Nose full of hops. Flavor was a hop sensation. Citrus hops up front followed by caramel malts and finishing with more hops without being too bitter. Syrupy sweet and sticky. Lagunitas does it again!

On tap at Trappeze. Poured amber with a white head. Very hoppy nose with plenty of citrus. Taste is also very hoppy with a nice sweet malt backing. Finish is very nice with lots of hoppy bitterness. A great IIPA.
