Aubrey (2554), Denver, Colorado, USA May 4, 2008 2008 Strong Ale Fest (Boulder, CO): One of my favorite beers from this beer fest. Bright gold; great head. Very nice malty flavors (sweet caramel and toffee). Wonderful hops (juicy citrus, spicy pine). Hops and malts complemented each other very nicely. Great beer.
JoeinUccle (624), Brussels, Belgium Jul 26, 2008 On tap. Not quite stoopid, but damn tasty. Golden color. Grapefruit aroma with some floral. Big, juicy citrus hops leave a more refreshing than crazy-bitter impression. That’s a good thing in my book. NobleSquirrel (646), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 26, 2008 This was an awesomely pleasant find on tap at Kuma’s. Deep amber colored, amazing hop nose of flowers and fruit, some nice tropical fruit. Beautiful nose. Taste is interesting in that it has a taste of wonderful tropical taste as well, very smooth and eloquent bitterness. So tightly put together, it’s hard to figure out how they did it. Awesome. couchand (131), West Amana, Iowa, USA Jul 22, 2008 Clear goldem with amber tone. Some white head.
Strong exotic fruit hop aroma, some sweetness.
Big full flavor, Bitter, not too much. Fruity, pleasant light light alcoholic tingle. Great fruity hoppiness.
Creamy, playful palate.
Very drinkable but complex. bager (1900), Copenhagen N, Denmark Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Almost clear and golden in colour with a white head. Quite hoppy with notes of raisin, rye, malty sweetness, high bitterness, caramel, grapefruits, citrus and pines. Cybercat (379), USA Jul 20, 2008 This one pours a nice orangy amber with a decent yellowish-tan head. Aroma is quite strong and so hoppy that it smells a lot like a pine tree. Flavor is seriously hoppy, with some hints of fruit but not too much bitterness. Texture is not smooth, but it is still pleasant to drink, especially if you are a hops fanatic.
