Though on the lighter side, the aroma is still well balanced and pleasant. A lot of fruity and herbal notes here, with melons, a sugary/tart citrus, some general mild fruit, light caramel and biscuits. The pour had some nice frothy head, very sticky lacing, some light particulate in the medium thick body, and a straight orange-red color. With a medium-full body, there’s not as much pop as you might expect, though it does have a nice creamy feel that finishes with a smooth bitter hop. If there’s one downside to this beer is that it doesn’t have a ton of complexities in the flavor. This isn’t really such bad thing though as the semi-sweet hop tropical citrus fruits and caramel cookie malts go together very well with a very nice balance that makes for easy drinking. This was quite a nice selection from a Lagunitas and perhaps the most sessionable dipa I’ve ever had.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Bottle. Pours hazy amber with an off-white head. The aroma is as expected with pine and citrusy hop notes. A noticeable resiny character and slightly sticky in mouthfeel however I get a feeling the in your face punch of hoppyness has faded over some time in the bottle. It’s still good drinking though for what it’s worth. hatchattack (23), Virginia, USA

There is an aroma of the floral hops with a great citrus smell. You can taste the hops right off the bat, then a citrus and pine taste. Good carbonation. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Nose is heavily citrus, orange, and grassy/piny hops; a little bread and caramel. Copper/straw color with a white, frothy head that stays with the beer to a small extent all the way down the glass. Flavor is very bitter, very fresh and citrusy. Medium-thick mouthfeel; lightly sticky on the lips. Not quite my style but a very good beer. waltersrj (58), Washington, USA

Taste is big hops with a sweet barley in the middle and bitter hops at the backend. The palate is thin and refreshing. Great ipa. luv2brew (181), Chesterfield, Virginia, USA

The malt is a plenty on this one. The hops are not overedone. A cedar type hoppiness resonatesthroughout this one. just a solid beer SorenE (129), , New Zealand

Definitely hoppy, but with some interesting sweet overtones of honeysuckle, lilac, and peppermint. The taste lingers with these piney bitterness. Theres also a nice herbal aroma, sage or heather perhaps.
