| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 30, 2009 Poured from 22oz bottle into a thistle style glass (my favorite) leaving plenty of room for the four inch head!
Appearance - The color is golden orange with a creamy off white head of tightly packed bubbles that recede somewhat quickly leaving perfect lacing.
Smell - The first hint is of pine and grapefruit followed by tangerine and malt.
Taste - Strong hops that linger, sharp and crisp. The aftertaste is bitter, and sweet like grass.
Mouthfeel - The mouthfeel is awesome. A lot like PTE although a little heaver.
Drinkability - Very drinkable! Like I said it’s a lot like PTE but more accessible. (I have to drive 80mi for the Pliny). I will most definitely buy it again... and again.
Great beer and at $3.99 at the local market how can I go wrong!? Good job Lagunitas!

Aroma is excellent definately screaming hops. The Beer has an excellent hoppy taste with a nice malty balance. The palate is dry but hoppiness adds mouthfeel. Overall this beer is great and I look forward to having it again. beerohbeer_com (6), Illinois, USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 4, 2010 Very enjoyable; even if there are complexities in the overall experience this is one of those beers that is honest and pretty much what you’d expect from a double IPA. nate2g (1150), Brisbane, Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Bottle. Pours hazy amber with an off-white head. The aroma is as expected with pine and citrusy hop notes. A noticeable resiny character and slightly sticky in mouthfeel however I get a feeling the in your face punch of hoppyness has faded over some time in the bottle. It’s still good drinking though for what it’s worth. hatchattack (26), Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Bottle. Thin two finger head when poured it has a great orange/amber color. There is an aroma of the floral hops with a great citrus smell. You can taste the hops right off the bat, then a citrus and pine taste. Good carbonation. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Nose is heavily citrus, orange, and grassy/piny hops; a little bread and caramel. Copper/straw color with a white, frothy head that stays with the beer to a small extent all the way down the glass. Flavor is very bitter, very fresh and citrusy. Medium-thick mouthfeel; lightly sticky on the lips. Not quite my style but a very good beer. waltersrj (58), Washington, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 1, 2010 Massive white head that sticks around for a while. this one is huge, but it is very well balanced. The malt is a plenty on this one. The hops are not overedone. A cedar type hoppiness resonatesthroughout this one. just a solid beer SorenE (129), , New Zealand
