Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a snifter. The color is that of honey, and a thick white head of approximately 1 inch quickly forms. Nice sheeting on the glass. Aroma is pine, citrus and light floral. Moderately bitter, medium body, and sticky, with average carbonation. Soft bitter finish that lingers. Very refreshing.

24oz bottle - in a tulip, after opening the bottle you immediately taste the hoppiness, very grassy/resinous taste, crisp and fresh. Dry and rather bitter aftertaste (has 100+ IBU - so you know what you’re getting in to). Maltiness is very slight and not to sweet, accompanies the hoppiness very well.

Aroma dominated by the hops, primarily grapefruit aromas. Some bready malt aromas in the background. Color is a a clear, light amber. Small off-white head. Mild sweetness, strong hop bitterness. Medium body; distinctly crisp on the palate; medium carbonation; long finish with carbonation first, then grapefruit hops and finally a little sweet bready malt. Overall a good IPA. Personally I prefer somewhat more balance from the malt. While this has some malt presence, the hops really dominate.

Pours a clear copper with a head that just keeps growing. Has that really piney aroma that first pulled me in to US IPA’s. It’s a ton of piney hops in the flavour with a delicate bitter finish but it feels a bit watery and oily at the same time.

Strong pine resin aroma. Pours clear effervescent light gold with a thick foamy bright white head that fades very slowly leaving foam on the glass. Soft mouthfeel with strong pine and citrus flavors and a grassy hint. Strong hops bitterness but is better balanced than the aroma would lead one to believe.

Pours clear golden amber with a long lasting head. Has that unique Lagunitas aroma. Sweet malt. Lots of earthy, spicy hop aromas. Really nice refreshing, crisp, clean taste. Really prominent malt backbone, hoppy taste, and a nice bitter finish with a little alcohol at the end. Great balance. This drink really comes together and Lagunitas shows us that it really knows how to put a DIPA together without going overboard on hops, sweetness or ABV.
