The aroma has notes of wet grains, hint of DMS, faint grassy hop, honey, and a dash of coriander. The taste soft flowery and bready malts with a note of fruit and spice. Rather straight forward and lacks the refreshment normally found within the style. While hardly a drain pour, this beer needs much better yeast usage and to be dryer. notalush (2648), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 20, 2007 Bottle from santa - hazy yellow, slightly fizzy beer - grains of paradise and orange peel dominate the aroma - kind of thin-bodied and flavored - flowery, scented soap qualities that get stronger as the beer warms - mild spice that’s very hard to make out - uninteresting, but drinkable. omhper (12180), Stockholm, Sweden
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 16, 2007 Updated: Jan 23, 2008Bottled at Kennedy’s San Francisco. Hazy golden, average head. Cinnamon aroma. Sweet and somewhatpapery, medium bodied and lightly fruity. To straightforward and simple. More like a spiced golden ale, as there is no Belgian yeast character and the more bold malt character than spritzy crispness. Aubrey (2774), Denver, Colorado, USA

The beer resides a clear gold with a portly creamy white head that fades leaving the lace to form a thin veil upon the glass. Nose has a fair to middling malt aroma, slight hint of hops, citrus like crispness, start is somewhat sweet, with a touch of bitterness at the back, top is light to moderate in feel. Finish has a prickly acidity, the hops understated but present with a sour and dry aftertaste, seems to pick up on all fronts as it warms to the glass and room, fair drinking beer, certainly not as good as expected from “Lagunitas”!

Maybe a little thin in body. Nothing else really stood out-- maybe could have used a little more pepper type flavor in the mix. I’ts representative of the style-- but still like DuPont Sisaon better. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Nov 18, 2007 Tap at Blind Tiger. Crystal clear, pale golden colour. Aroma is lightly spicy with a fairly prominent dustiness over lean pale malt. Also some metallic/plasticy autolytic aromas. Thin-bodied with a fairly harsh metallic bitterness. This is a friggin’ trainwreck... I want my money back!
