carruthm (1109), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 7, 2009 on tap from taphouse - seattle. yeasty and fruity nose with a sweet taste. not too spicy for a saison, but enjoyable on its own. Kodos (200), USA Apr 19, 2009 On Tap. Pours a clear golden with a small lasting head. Malty citrus fruit on the nose. Sweet citrus fruit with a bit of a floral undertone and slightly spicy. Not really a saison but... Oscbert (531), Sacramento, California, USA Apr 18, 2009 ~Pours a light gold color with little to no head.
~Scent of corriander and yeast.
~Frity apple like flavor with lots of yeasty notes.
~Medium to light feel. Strange aftertaste.
~I didn’t care too much for this one. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Apr 13, 2009 welcome back sweetheart .. . honey .. . smooth and sweet .. . some cereal and honey in the mouth .. light golden color .. . this is awesome stuff .. a fine brew indeed . . NobleSquirrel (1094), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 11, 2009 Draft at Kuma’s Corner. I actually thought at first it was Hop Stoopid again, but unfortunately it wasn’t. Pours a clear pale yellow with a sticky head. Nose is spicy and yeasty with a light graininess. Bananas dominate, followed by some citrus as well. Taste is pretty straight forward simple saison, a lot like Cynic. Light and easy to drink. Okay. jstraw (750), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 20, 2009 Draft at Jerry’s. Clear golden with big, foamy white head / Nose of orange peel and spice / Light to medium body, low carbonation, dry, with good balance and finish / Flavors of grain, orange peel, bubblegum, cloves, and coriander / Very good, but lacking the Belgian body to compliment the bold fruit and spice flavors. More like a cross between a pils and a wit. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 10, 2009 Pours hazy deep gold with 1-finger well retained off-white head. Nose is earthy, with honey, apricot, pale malt, not much funk noted. Flavor is pale malt, honey, some dull earthy florals, and finishing tannic British bitter/mild flavor notes. Not well balanced, nor dry, floral, spicy, or funky enough to pique my interest. Not a great saison. BMan1113VR (2755), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Mar 10, 2009 Bottle labeled at 6% ABV (not 5.2%). When opened, an immediate unpleasant skunkiness escapes...uh-oh. Pours with a small, fizzy white head over a clear yellow body. Head has completely faded with-in 30 seconds. Aroma is grassy and light struck. Toasted grain and soggy wheat following with a hint of orange peel and pepper. Taste is soggy cereal finishing metallicy with a spicy wheat note. Not enjoyable, and nothing about this says saison to me. Fizzy and dry.
