mrhoppy (209), Santa Clara, California, USA Jan 17, 2009 Definitely has that sweet yeasty spicy farmhouse lemony aroma. Best gold color I have seen. Not to spicy like some Saison ales. Nice light very refreshing and really flavorful. Fresh baked bread. Very bubbly. Saison Champagne. A real thirst quencher. Excellent balanced quality ale. Most of the ratings are way to low for this beer. Should definitely win an award. JAF737300 (791), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 19, 2007 This is quite a solid beer. It has a nice light brown color with a firm head. The mouth has a nice texture that brings a full saison style flavor. Great beer! hopheaven (83), Eureka, California, USA Nov 9, 2009 grapefruit, berries, bready, earthy, banana esters... toast, light caramel, fragrant hops, citrusy, floral... malty, belgian yeast... substantial bitterness... BückDich (4785), McCall, Idaho, USA Jun 13, 2007 Gold color, light head and good lacing. Nose of grassy yeast and sweet malt, some bright orange citrusy coriander and hops, some caramel. The flavor is nice and crispy with hops. Plenty of pilsner malt and belgian yeast. Finishes nice and tart, well balanced saison, a bit more funk and stronger, and this would be near perfect. jstraw (750), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 20, 2009 Draft at Jerry’s. Clear golden with big, foamy white head / Nose of orange peel and spice / Light to medium body, low carbonation, dry, with good balance and finish / Flavors of grain, orange peel, bubblegum, cloves, and coriander / Very good, but lacking the Belgian body to compliment the bold fruit and spice flavors. More like a cross between a pils and a wit. jhumphries69 (717), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Apr 11, 2008 On tap at Taco Mac. Poured clear and yellow/gold with a thin, white head (Taco Mac always pours drafts with no head and too cold...). The aroma is spicy with some banana notes - quite floral, too. The phenolics and noble hops remind me of a potpourri - almost like chamomile and lavendar... There is also a slight pepperiness in there. The flavor is nice - bready with a little residual malt sweetness, lots of fruity esters (subtle banana note), yeast (accentuates the breadiness), and delicate backup of floral/perfumy hops. The middle of the tongue picks up more esters, and the beer finishes a bit full (probably too full compared to Belgian Saisons) with a nice, balancing bitterness. The mouthfeel is crisply carbonated and medium in body. Overall, a very tasty Belgain ale - but not quite dry enough (same mistake I made the last time I tried to homebrew a Saison...) WeeHeavySD (2940), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Feb 17, 2008 1/3/08 @ the Tour @ the Brewery with Bikesandbeer, 8th Brewery of the trip, 1st of 3 of the day. out of a 22oz bottle. Pous clear yellow with a off white ring. Nose is light spicy, and sweet. Taste is sweet, and brisk, very drinkable and nice and tasty. As a Saison it might not be much but for itself its good.
