Had this on tap at Lagunitas. Carries a nice dark, almost black body. I didn’t know this was originally an imperial stout while rating it. The head faded away rather quickly. If I could compare the appearance to another sour, I would say that it looks slightly darker than Consecration. Pungent and fresh sour apple aroma that is hitting my olfactories like crazy. Sour flavor, obviously. If I had to guess I would say I am getting a bit of brett and lacto, but I can’t be completely sure. I still consider myself a novice "sour rater". Pleasant sour apple flavor with an unexpected roast flavor as well. The texture is nice and definitely carries the flavors well. Seems like I am getting a bit of wood flavor, but I think that is just the nuances of the roast. I am starting to think that the roast flavor is fucking with this beer a bit. Overall, a very nice sour with a great mixture of roast and apple.
