AKA Holiday Ale
AKA Holiday Leftover Ale
AKA Brown Sugar Substitute

This sad holiday season we didn’t have the brewing capacity to make our favorite seasonal brew, the widely feared BrownShugga’ Ale. You see we had a couple of really good years (thank you very much) and so heading into this season while we are awaiting the January delivery of a new brewhouse we are jammin’ along brewing 80 barrels of IPA and PILS and such every 3 hours. A couple of months back we realized that since we can only brew a mere 60 barrels of Shugga’ every 5 hours, that we were seriously screwed. For every case of Shugga’ brewed, we’d short 3 cases of our favorite daily beers. It’s a drag. This year, we brewed something that we think is also cool and brews more like our daily brews. The new brewhouse will help insure this kind of failure never happens again. It’s a mess that we can not brew our BrownShugga’ this year and we suck for not doing it. There is nothing cool about screwing this up this badly and we know it. Maybe we can sue our own sorry selves. There is no joy in our hearts this holiday and the best we can hope for is a quick and merciful end. F*@& us. This totally blows. Whatever. We freaking munch moldy donkey butt and we just want it to be all over...
So this substitute beer is a ‘Cereal Medley’ of Barley, Rye, Wheat, and Oats…. Full of complexishness from the 4 grains, and weighing in at 7.85% abv, Then joyously dry-hopped for that big aroma and resinous hop flavor.

Quite similar to Little Sumpin Sumpin in my opinion. Hoppy base with tangerine, citrus, with a rye finish. Very drinkable beer here. A fine replacement for Brown Sugga.

Nice clean brew. A smooth malty backbone lightly hopped, semi-sweet finish. It’s not as strong or full-bodied as I expect an American strong, but what do I care?

Pours a light golden color with a thin white head. Aroma of a lot of hops. String hot flavor off the bat, with some sweet overtones in the end bit still a lot of hoppiness. Good holiday beer, just the right amount of spice.

32 ounce bottle. Pours a honey gold color with a dense rocky beige head. Rich pine and citrus hop aroma. Notes of caramel malt as well. Flavor is caramel and toasted malt with a light spivey nuance. This is a real nice balance of tropical fruit malt and spicy hops that provides a very nice big ale. Lovely clinging lace when all is done.

Golden colour. White head. Slight tropical fruit aromas with hints of peaches. Medium full body, dry mouthfeel, slight sweetness. Peaches, grapefruit, dry fruit. Warming alcohol and a reasonably high bitterness.A perfect holiday hoppy ale!

A lightly hazed, golden amber body supports a tall, tight, white, slowly fading head creating dense lacing and a solid sheet sporting a root beer float style crown

A clean, lean take on the classic dank-citrusy-fruity sweet Lagunitas profile, mango, green melon, and pine with clearing nuances of lemon and lime on a silky smooth, coating body offering bitter-sweet residuals of the previously mentioned components

Love the powerful hoppy aroma. Looks like a normal beer - clear golden and bubbly. A little peachy. - Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of candied citrus, maybe some wheat or just tons of pale malt, very nice, excellent grass note but its got some more depth to it than just straight grassy hoppy bears, the sweet malt note holds up well. Flavor follows but is just a bit more sweet and sugary that I would like but only by a tad, drinks well but leaves some richness in the aftertaste that sticks around, but it’s winter and that’s just fine.

This ones is a five all around. It’s just an exceptionally wonderful IPA. It has everything you could ever want. So much citrus, pine, tons of pine actually. So much citrus fruit, pineapple, mango literally everything. It’s a massive IPA with so much going on but theres a perfect balance. It’s just a really exceptional IPA and if you appreciate IPA you’ll probably feel the same. This one just blew me away. I will be stocking up on this. Cheers.

My favorite find this past summer The variety of hops results in dry citrus flavors that I love ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
