As soon as you open the bottle you get a nose full of grapefruit, tangerine, pine, caramel, light biscuit. Taste is sharp citrus bitterness, sweet caramel malt. Palate is soft, oily, bitter finish. This beer definitely does not suck, and I would take this over brown shugga any day.

Very nicely balanced IPA. Very smooth and enjoyable. Strong pine and hop characteristics with a nice malt finish.

Tasted on 5/14/13 from a capped 12oz bottle purchased at Tops. Pours clear orange bronze with an average off-white head that slowly recedes to spotty lace. The nose is a classic, very nice combo of resin hops and caramel malt. The flavor is the same, very balanced, with some nice balance. The body is medium and somewhat sticky with fairly lively carbonation and a long resinous bitter hoos finish,

Bottle sample at a tasting at our place. Thanks zvikar. Clear golden orange, white head. Grapefruit, pine and rather delicate aroma, bitter, also piney and delicate taste. Rather light body, citrusy finish.

12oz bottle from Premier Gourmet - enjoyed in a Cantillon glass whilst watching game 6 of Leafs v. Bruins (so sucks might apply nicely). Hazy gold, large white lasting head. Hops. Hopz. HOPZ!!!! Average body, light astringency, catty APA type finish - bloody nice. These guys don’t get enough love.

Crisp bright orange body, small off white head. 3+ Aroma is pleasantly hoppy, oily resiny orange citrus. 7++ Flavour is similarly hoppy, with lots of resiny citrus oil characteristics, orange peel and light alcoholic undertones, particularly in the finish. Pours a clear copper colour with a white creamy head. Aroma of caramel, resin, cereal and hay. Flavour of caramel malts, resin, floral hops, grass and some metallic notes, as I’ve had on other Lagunitas brews as well. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a dry, floral, metallic finish. Somehow I don’t like these Lagunitas beers that much as the metallic notes tend to ruin the flavour.

Aroma has fruits, resin, some hops, caramel and biscuits. Flavour has resin, some fruity hops, some caramel and hay. A bit harsh finish with gooseberry bush and metal. Decent.

Bottled 6th February 2013 - Pours clear golden orange with a large foamy head. Aroma of fruity hops, grassy notes, biscuity malts and crisp caramel. Taste is crisp and hoppy with notes of fruits, grass, biscuity malts and hints of stingy metallic notes. Finish is malty, hoppy and fruity with some biscuity notes. Quite balanced malty IPA.
