3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Other than being a very clear golden brew it smells and tastes like grapefruit juice. It has that sweetness that is followed by the acidic bitterness, just about like drinking grapefruit juice. So while yes that is the initial reaction after a few drinks there is more to it but it is not a major contribution to the overall taste. Luckily I like grapefruit juice so it’s a pretty good brew in my book.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2014 Always been a bigger want from me especially from this brewery. Pours a really nice golden color. Looks better than the average IPA and more distinct. Huge pine aroma. Big hoppy pine taste upfront. Taste blends into a citrusy grapefruit and orange based flavor that is really spot on. Hop feel lingers on the tongue. EXTREMELY drinkable. Really good stuff.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Dogfish Head pint glass.
The color is a clear orange/gold with a finger or so of foamy white head and some thick lacing left on the glass.
The smell is hops with a backup of sweet malt aroma that sits towards the back but can not be ignored. There is a candy-like aroma there that has a touch of grape Fundip.
The taste is less hoppy then expected, the malt is there first with some sweetness to start things off before going quickly into some flavorful fruity hop bitterness. This beer may have some age on it so it’s a little drawn back from what I remember from having a fresh one in the past. This still holds up and in some ways is more flavorful with the bitterness in the back seat and more of fruit flavor is detectable without being over shadowed.
The feel of this beer is medium bodied and is a better drinker then anticipated. It’s smooth going down and does not give as much punch to the pallet.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours hazy gold with white head, the haze is big chunks of sediment. Aroma is tropical fruit. Nice tropical fruit and citrus hop profile. Caramel malts, not terribly bitter. Really good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Alright, whatever this is, it is okay. It has a complex maltiness and some nice grain accents. I’m not in love with this thing like many on here seem to be.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
2013 bottle to a tulip glass. Pours a clear light amber-copper color with a frothy off-white head with sticky lacing. Aroma is piney and herbal hops with caramel and some mango and other tropical fruits. Taste is sweet caramel malt with a slight flowery and herbal bitterness. Also a strange, almost minty taste that I can't quit put my finger on. Possibly some alcohol coming through. A dry medium mouthfeel.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Haven’t had the BrownShugga’ ale, which this is a substitue for, but this tastes pretty good to me! It has guava and orange in the aroma, and a light, clear, golden color. Great hoppy, flowery taste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Growler fill from tasty bev. Tastes very much like a normal lagunitas brew. The main defining feature of this beer is its very floral and fruity nose. More so than the normal lagunitas lineup. Smells like a garden, not very bitter, with a good bit of piney hoppiness (Which is expected from them). Smells great, tastes ordinary for them.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Medium amber body floats a creamy off white head that leaves decent lacing. Smells of citrus and juniper and cut hay, mango and orange, caramel. Taste is mango and juniper, bitter orange, faint honey in the finish. Palate is rich and thick, carbonation is fine and light, perfect. This is really fine beer. Just a touch bitter on the finish to be something I want all day, but so close!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Fresh Winter 2014 bottle, drunk 2/21/14
As I get towards the bottom, I’m not too concerned to be careful to not pour yeast sediment in to the glass, since it’s Lagunitas. Thusly, a clear pour is amber-gold and produces a small white head that fizzles away to light cover, quickly.
Damn. The nose does smell really nicely hoppy and balanced. Juicy fruits, very light orange rind and pine on the end, and just a bit of pale malt sweetness. Clean, no esters, alcohol or vapors. Just fresh hops and malt.
Orangey hop flavor washes over the palate as a soft but rich honeyed-sweetness balances. The carbonation is stiff and too peppery, disrupting the continuity at first. Very bitter throughout and ending with Heavy pine bitterness. It quickly builds up and soon I’m not reaching for my glass quickly any more. At 8%, that’s fine and this is a good sipper. It’s clean, with alcohol warming and pine resin to the max, but very well-done production-wise (aside from the fact that I still won’t concede to filtering being good).
