4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 CheersMate (1292) - Fremont (Seattle), Washington, USA - DEC 15, 2011
12 oz. bottle from Marketime in Fremont. Fuckin’ right down the street. Vibrant orange appearance with a wispy head. Pungent grapefruit citrus aroma hits my nose immediately. Soft orange citrus to backup the aforementioned aroma. Subtle sweet malt aroma is carrying it all forward. Damn this thing smells great. Light right in there as well. Prickly citrus hop flavor just dances all over my taste buds. Light orange citrus, and a little pine even, are all coming together perfectly. The light right is backing this all up. Fucking shit, this beer is developing really well, and leaving a pleasing bitterness on my tongue that leaves me craving more. The carbonation is oh so slightly too much. Great stuff. Very, very ,very good stuff.

Hoppy hoppy! Very bitter and bitty. Not a traditional holiday ale. This is a delicious IPA. Color is light with a white head. Definitely a crisp taste.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark golden to light copper color. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, brown sugar, honey. Flavor is grapefruit, pine, caramel. Not a tremendous amount of complexity to the aroma or flavor, but damn it’s good.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 marcus (5005) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 15, 2011
Bottle from Davis Beer Shoppe. POurs copper with a decent off-white head and a candi sugar aroma. There is a rich and complex malt flavor that includes dark fruit, sugar, molasses and a very piney hop finish. A fine ale that is quite suitable for the holidays.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ksurkin (1021) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - DEC 15, 2011
12oz bottle from grape & gourmet. pours a clear, pale gold with a smooth, creamy, bright white head that has light retention and leaves sticky rings of lace. aroma is spectacular, really reminds me of Yulesmith, with huge fruity notes of pink grapefruit, tangerine, lime zest, and pineapple backed by heavy, spiced pine resins, cane sugar, and just a hint of dank grass with a trace of gingerbread peaking through as it warms. flavor is wonderful as well with rich, spicy pine esters, wet grass, and bold, bitter hops followed by sweet, fruity notes of pineapple, grapefruit flesh, and tangerine with subtle white grape notes peaking out ahead of light, sugar-cookie malts. palate is medium bodied with perfect carbonation and a dry, bitter, fruity finish. overall, this is one hell of a "mistake". not sure about american strong ale, but it’s a great dipa.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 esjaygee (3209) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 15, 2011
Amber with a thin white head. Arom aof heavy grapefruit, orange, citrus, caramel and light spice. Taste of heavy grapefruit and resinous hops, pale malt, some caramel along with a bit of orange. Mild alcohol burn and a middle of the road bitterness. Pretty solid brew, better than the one it replaced – I hope it stays a winter seasonal.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 mixmasterob (830) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - DEC 15, 2011
Huge surprise from Lagunitas! Gorgeous light golden pour, bright as can be, thick white head. Tons of lace. Aroma was impressive. Super clean citrus fruits, grapefruit and pineapple, light sugar sweetness. Really popped. Flavors were lightly bitter, full of fruity goodness and very well balanced. Enough malt to keep this from being thin, satisfying body and mouth. Carbonation was perfect. This one is a winner. One of the best I’ve had in a while.

Pours gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head with god retention recedes to skim surface. Mango, pineapple and resin aromas. Medium bodied with sweet toffee upfront turning to tropical fruits before the lasting resin finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Nuffield (3348) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - DEC 14, 2011
What a funny name and approach for a holiday ale! Well done. What I really liked about this was the clear note of passion fruit in the forward flavor. The aroma has more citrus/pine, but the flavor does give way into the bitter edges. Still, very perky and drinkable, with typical Lagunitas skill. Bottle.
