4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2014 From the bottle. Pours a relatively light yellow with large white, puffy head. Aroma of citrus and grapefruit. Taste is very similar, with just a touch of malt backbone. Similar to many Lagunitas beers, but a little lighter in color and with slightly less malth backbone. Finishes dry and leaves you wanting more. Wish this was available year round.
re-rate from a fresh bottle in November 2014. upped the score from 7 to 8 on aroma, all else same.

Lots of grapefruit citrus in this one. The scent was citrus and so was the taste. The bitterness was spot on and I felt this was a solid brew.
This poured golden with some very noticeable carbonation bubbles.

Hop forward with strong citrus and pine tones. Has a nice and sweet malty backbone.

Pours a five plus finger white head that fades slowly leaving tons of lace. Crystal clear amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is hemlock/pine hops, flavor is caramel and hemlock. Light lingering bitter finish. Decent Imperial IPA. $2.45 for a 12oz bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, MA.

Excellent beer! One of Lagunitas best efforts. Golden in color. But, don’t let the lighter color fool you. This is a strong, flavorful beer with a earthy aroma & sweet taste. Strongly recommend this beer.

In my honest opinion, this is a perfect beer. It’s balance like you’ve never seen and taste perfect. I would drink this everyday if I could. Great product, I loved it. Can’t wait to get down to Lagunitas.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
[Bottle] Pours amber with a nice off-white head that quickly reduces to a thin, lingering film and some larger bubbles. Aroma is very vibrant, with mango, candied pineapple, pine, and grapefruit. Sort of a wood spiciness in there as well. The taste is quite bitter, lots of papaya and grapefruit, mild alcohol, and malt in the finish. Average mouthfeel, fairly smooth, lingering finish. Overall, a really solid beer that I hope Lagunitas makes one of their year-round offerings.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Fresh bottle thanks to Bruce. It pours clear orange-amber with a medium off-white head. The nose is fresh pine, orange, ripe tangerine, juicy mango, passion fruit, peach and marmalade. The taste is pine, pleasant bitterness, resin, straw, pithy orange, peach, grapefruit and touch of pepper with a bitter, resinous finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty great stuff all-round. One of the best IPAs out there.
