3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(bottle) Clear orange-gold body with a very thin white head. Powerful aroma is sweet, very floral, and fruity--orange, grapefruit, cherries; some grass/pine. Body is light to medium, mild carbonation. Strong bitter flavor of pine, grass, grapefruit, resin with a nice underlying sweetness; slightly spicy, pepper. Flavor is very bitter, could use a little more balance.

Awesome beer. Explodes with fruity citrus flavor. Has a strong malt backbone to meet the delicious hops.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle, no date from Best Damn Beer Shop in SD, don’t recall the price. Clear golden orange (with bits of fine dust sediment) and a 1/2 finger white beige head, fading to a thick ring and swirly film after a minute or so. Grapefruit rind and pine nose, some green hops, lightly spicy, and some cracker malt in the back. Flavor continues with the citrus pine hops and adds a small amount of some dry hops, orange pith. I’m not getting any rye. Still a little spicy. Low sweetness with a dry finish, bitterness peaking at a 7. The alcohol does warm my throat a bit, otherwise masked quite well. Low prickly carbonation with a medium body. Good beer--the house yeast flavor didn’t really bother me at all with this one.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Amber-gold with big, foamy, white head / Bright nose of weed and citrus / Medium body, some biting hops with extremely bitter finish / Flavors of weed, hops, grapefruit, and passionfruit / This has the building blocks of being a superb ipa, but the bitterness is so over the top that it drags down the body and flavor.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle from Jonathan Ron Brielle. Poured a clear copper body underneath an average sized foamy white head that leaves some solid lacing on my DFH snifter/tulip glass thingy. Aroma is loaded with lots of resinous hops, dry citrus rinds, orange juice concentrate, grapes and grains. Fuller body that is smooth with average to slightly bubbly carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. Flavor is mostly bitter hop bite with citrus rinds, yellow grapefruit and garins. Is Lagunitas the new Rogue?? This could be an one of their awesome hoppy beers that are out there they are all so much the same.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bright 24 karat pour with a small ivory head. Lots of Ponderosa and spruce in this one along with citrus pith...unfortunately, there is an overwhelming fruitiness that seems significantly forward and out of balance. Just not a fan of this one.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear gold with a bright white head and nice lacing. Holy smokes! what a strong citrus hop bomb! But clean and crisp and not fabricated, just solid over-the-top hoppiness. Very well done.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Aroma is super sticky fresh hops. Pine, resin, sap, you name it! Flavor has a very dry Christmas tree taste with a finish that goes all the way. Crazy.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
draft @ redlight redlight. Extremely piney aroma! Pours golden blonde with a thin white head. Resinous hops overflowing in the flavor, sticky pine notes with lots of citrus, the ’cereal medley’ is lost under the hops but its freaking good. Deep down I’m still a hop-head.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottled November 4, 2011. Served at around 45F.
Pours golden amber with a two finger white head that leaves nice sticky rings of lacing and holds a small cap.
Aroma is orange, pineapple, some grapefruit, floral hops, some marijuana and bready malt, bit of fruitiness, hint of onion (Summit?). Very good strength.
Flavor is resinous hops, orange citrus, some pineapple, banana, bit of grapefruit, caramel and bready malt, hint of spice and onions, a touch of alcohol, finishes with good bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, oily, good carbonation.
Pretty good stuff...nice aroma, kinda comes across as a rye and/or danker version of their Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’. Definitely a far cry from Brown Shugga, but a worthwhile replacement brew for this winter.
