This beer is as good as the story behind it.

On tap. Pours a clear very gold with a thinner eggshell head of larger bubbles that laces quite nicely. Nose involves a healthy amount of pine resin, dry grapefruit, honey, floral perfume, and biscuit malt notes. Pretty sweet in flavor, but quite bitter. Medium bodied, oily, dry, with a long toasty piney bitter finish. A nice, enjoyable brew, pretty easy to drink for its size.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 blankboy (5191) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 7, 2013
Bottle [12oz]. Pours a slightly hazy, bubbly, golden-orange with a large lasting frothy white head. A good amount of lacing. Lovely aroma of tropical fruit, citrus and hops -- resiny, citrusy, piney and more. Flavour follows the aroma with the aforementioned fruit and hops along with some bready malt and alcohol. Moderate bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not sure what style this would ultimately be but it’s a very pleasant, solid beer.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Nik925 (702) - California, USA - MAY 25, 2013
Looks to be naturally carbonated - when did they make that switch? Look is nothing special. Confusing taste. Very odd malt here. Worth reading the (self abusive) description to make sense of it. Okay, so 4 grains went into the malt. I love this Brewer so I’m going to float them some points for going so far outside the norm. If you crack this open expecting an IPA, well, that is a WTF moment then. For a beer that those dudes dreamed up to be out-there, it is a success. As a beer in the glass, Meh.

Okay, I like this beer quite a bit, but I think this is w/o question the wittiest (and longest) description of a beer I have seen yet on this site, so I gave it an extra couple of points for crafty self-deprecation of writing style........ "Whatever"

Tasted on 5/14/13 from a capped 12oz bottle purchased at Tops. Pours clear orange bronze with an average off-white head that slowly recedes to spotty lace. The nose is a classic, very nice combo of resin hops and caramel malt. The flavor is the same, very balanced, with some nice balance. The body is medium and somewhat sticky with fairly lively carbonation and a long resinous bitter hoos finish,

355 mL bottle. An IPA that is leaning dangerously into ASA territory. But that’s okay; I love ASA.
