tympanic (50), Alabama, USA May 7, 2008 Updated: May 8, 2008dark brown... over-ripe fruits, caramel, apple, alcohol. i got so wasted on this. oh well. ilovedarkbeer (1326), Dallas, Texas, USA May 5, 2008 Pretty nice ASA. Pours a nice rich mahogany color with a greenish tinted off white head. Nose is hoppy and dark fruits with some caramel and alcohol. Taste is Acidic and highly carbonated syrup like mouthfeel and a spicy hoppy bite. Nice beer and it shares some of the malt chars of gnarly wine. plovmand (1590), Helsinge, Denmark May 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark reddish brown with a medium head. In nose burned caramel and dark fruits. Flavour is raisins, prune, caramel, hazelnut and alcohol. Decent brew. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark May 3, 2008 Bottled. Hazy amber coloured with a medium sized head. Quite malty with notes of pines, raisins, citrus, alcohol and hops. NeonLX (258), Wisconsin, USA May 2, 2008 From a 12-oz. bottle, this pours a clear, deep ruby-brown with a khaki head. Nice lacing. Sweet aroma with hints of ripe fruit and caramel corn. Tofee-like malt predominates in the taste with relatively mild hopping in the followup; kind of like a mellowed version of Bigfoot. Very smooth and almost creamy. Very good. WesKBob (320), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA May 1, 2008 Pours a dark reddish brown with lots of carbonation, but a very thin, quickly dissipating head. A moderate toasted malt aroma with some light hints of coffee. Flavor is of coffee malt, with just a bit of sweetness and acidity. A little too fizzy for my taste. Nothing special. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA Apr 30, 2008 Ruby brown with a thin off-white head. Caramel malt aroma. Sweet and potent malt flavor with a big alcohol presence. earthy and rich with a decent hop presence. Nice. KnutAlbert (3111), Oslo, Norway Apr 28, 2008 Bottle, thanks grove.
Lots of malt, raisins both in aroma and taste.
Eiswein, sherry.
There is a dryness underneath that plays along. Lovely.
