Apr 9, 2008 Cloudy, dark red-brown with a small off white head. Sweet nose with touches of carob and caramel, a bit of plum. Pleasant, fruity flavor with some nice chocolatey notes. Quite sweet--might take well to a bit of age.

Apr 9, 2008 Very small aroma in this beer and almost o head or carbonation. The taste is sweet malt with cola and maple notes. The finish is slightly bitter and some sticky sweetness. Kind of strong on the alcohol. I like it, but agree with RSRIZZO that some more carbonation might improve certain aspects of the beer’s profile; but this beer gets better as the glass goes by- tastes a bit like a good grand cru.

Apr 9, 2008 Aroma is a little malt and alcohol. Color is a bright amber with almost no carbonation and just a thin ring for a head. Taste is sweet, malty and bitter. Starting with medium / full body with goes down with a smooth feel. Finish then starts with rich malt taste that turns to a sugar like taste that rides along with a mellow bitterness. In the after taste you get both a bitter and sweet feel, as they fade the alcohol come up leaving you with a warm feel in the back of your mouth. This is a complex and very interesting brew. I like it but wonder if a little more carbonation would make it a bit better.

Apr 9, 2008 Deep brown pour with a lively head that quickly fades into the beer. Caramel scent and big wet caramel taste. Almost a burned brown sugar taste, very thick. Its a hot taste, but not really alcohol hot. Could be difficult to have this as a session, unless you wanted to break up a stout tasting. A good thing to round out a 6 pack, but nothing to go crazy after.

Apr 7, 2008 Pours nice brown with some fuzzy offwhite head and tons of lacing on the glass.
Very malty aroma, some caramel and earthy hops. Flavor is hoppy-er but balanced with plenty of malt. Alcohol is present but not strong.
Medium-heavy body, somewhat silky.
Dry, slightly hoppy, rather bland finish.

Apr 7, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with nice off white head. Aroma of malts, toffee, and alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and malty with strong alcohol taste. Too sticky sweet for me.

Apr 6, 2008 Pours a dark ruby brown color with a slight white head. Aroma is very malty, caramel, and with a little bit of alcohol. Flavor is brilliant... sweet and malty, and very delicious.
