Apr 3, 2008 12oz bottle from Spirits RB. Pours a deep dark thick looking chestnut brown with a small very off white head frothy head. Different aroma like a maple syrup alcohol liqour. Full bodied that is chewy and cloying with a lot of alcohol showing especially for something that is only 9%. Flavor of bad toffee and caramel mixed with some alcohol and celery thrown in the mix. This is the Rupaul of beer, just very confused and can’t seem to make up it’s mind what it wants to be.

Apr 2, 2008 good powerful malt flavors and beautiful sweetness to where it tastes of cherry and fruit. very good holiday offering. it has a nice passing infusion of hops.brandydylike yet restrained very good beer with a nice hairy kick... bravo!

Apr 2, 2008 12oz bottle. Muted aroma of brown sugar, tree bark and dry biscuit malt. Pours a nice, dark amber with a good lasting off white head. Heavy, sweet caramel and toffee malt on the tongue. Brown sugar, spicy maple syrup. Plenty of malt. A touch of copper bitterness. Light citrus zest. Clunky and not that well put together.

Mar 30, 2008 Light milk chocolate aroma. Very deep chestnut color with an off white head. Sweet light roasted body with a light milk chocolate flavor. Plain sweet palate. Finishes a little to quickly.

Mar 28, 2008 Dry finish, but other than that it’s pretty metallic tasting. Pours amber with a frothy tan/biscuit head. The alcohol is not very well hidden. The malts are almost too sweet - copper tasting and looking. The aroma is yeasty and grassy. Not bad, not great.

Mar 28, 2008 There are ales where the esters create a pleasing hairy note such as great lakes moon dog or for collins mountain IPA, but this cloying candy carmel yuckiness is hairy in name only. Only thing noteworthy was an apricot note and somewhat dry finish.

Mar 27, 2008 Poured from bottle at Lunar in Villa Park. Red amber pour with a modest head. Alcohol in the nose. Strange mouthfeel. Seemed to vary - from medium to watery. When it came right down to it this tasted kind of like a watered down Barley WIne to me and I just wasn’t that interested.
