Big malty flavor with caramel, brown sugar, and a healthy dose of alcohol. Sweet, but just enough hops to balance, but not be too bitter or hoppy in flavor. Full mouthfeel. Nice sweet flavors, and good warmer on a snowy evening, but nothing complex. Darkover (1311), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 20, 2008 12oz bottle. Reddish/purple hued body with a small, compact light brown head. Great retention and serviceable lacing is present as well. Nose is floral hops, caramel, molasses, dark fruits and brown sugar. Maybe get a hint of concord grapes and some phenol heat in there as well. Fore is juicy dark fruit esters, grapes, floral/perfume hops and caramel malts. Medium body, very vinous thanks to the fruit hints, average carbonation. Finish is lengthy and boozy, with floral hops, brown sugar and caramel underpinnings. Far reaches of the finish dry out the tongue and back of the throat completely. Interesting brew. troopie (866), USA

Clean finish... not the most interesting of beers, but very good. smith4498 (866), Miami, Florida, USA
