"Here’s Lookin’ Atcha’!"

Laying there, staring up at the ceiling, head pounding, last night was a dim recollection. How did he get home? Was he alone? Looking to the left and right, the answer was yes, maybe. His head was full of ’rag water, bitters, and the blue ruin’.His teeth felt like he’d been chewing aluminum and his breath smelled like a burning tractor tire. There was a wrenching knot somewhere between his liver and East St. Louis and he couldn’t be sure whether or not he’d wet himself. A yellow sine wave rang in his ears so loud nit made his teeth itch and he was sure that if he touched his skin anywhere it would induce a rhythmic retching jag. Even in the face of all that, he found himself smiling at the realization that today represented the fresh breast of a new year- an undiscovered country- and also there was still one warm, half-full, flat redolent Hairy Eyeball on the nightstand. Yes-there is a God.

Not sure what to think about this. Sweet yet bitter. Not what i would call balanced though. It’s more like they are clashing flavors instead of them working together to create one unified taste. Soft smooth mouth feel but leaves a dry stickiness in the mouth that i can not say i admire. For the price (@$5.00) it’s a decent beer. Just not something that would come to mind if i was asked to make a recommendation.

Bottle - small foamy head, very dark Amber color, strong balanced aroma and flavor, deep caramel malt and fruity hops, smooth finish with a fair amount of alcohol notes, almost reminds me of a barleywine, very good overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz from Anderson’s, Dublin, OH at $5.99. Another Lagunitas strong ale, SHOCKING! Sweet, malty, red, fruit, alcohol, toffee, caramel, vanilla. Stickier and sweeter than I was expecting, there’s clearly a lot of unfermented sugar left in this one, which is not particularly typical of Lagunitas brews.

Dark brown with a reddish tinge and a slight white head. Aroma is sweet, a little boozy with maybe a hint of vanilla extract. Flavor is boozy with a bit of vanilla, a touch of bourbon and maybe just a little dark fruit. Hops in the body, but the sweetness is fairly overwhelming. A touch cloying, but interesting. Wife:3.6

On tap. Dark brown with one finger white head. Dark fruit aroma, not over powering. Dark fruit and cinnamon taste. Pretty good.

Tap at CBM Jimbocho. Deep amber color with a soapy head that lasts throughout. Lots of caramel, toffee, sorghum, on the nose with hints of dried apricot and resiny hops. More of the same on the palate. Strong malt backbone with the sweetness really shining as it warms up to room temperature. Hides the alcohol fairly well. Full-bodied beer with a rich and slightly creamy mouthfeel. Hops stand out on the big dry finish.

Pours a dark red with a very spotty lacing. The taste starts caramel and chocolate then almost a red wine. nice mix. a little thick across the tongue. not sessionable.

Poured a clear dark ruby brown colour with an off white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, toffee, brown sugar, and what seems to be a fruity(cranberry) notes. Flavor is caramel, toffee, dark fruits, and a moderate dry hop bitterness. Full bodied with a chewy mouthfeel. Soft bitterness with a sweet light boozy finish. Really enjoyable.

Great smell almost like a sour ale, reddish brown appearance, taste is a little hoppier than expected, but malt can be tasted has a sweeter finish.. Starts with hops and finishes on malt lol... Would be a little better without the hops punch in the mouth but that’s what makes this one unique!
