Draft. A dark reddish amber in color. A snappy, crisp citrus aroma leading into a hoppy, alcohol based flavor. The finish is dry with a heavy alcohol note.

Dark red amber color with decent head. However, after dissipation, beer becomes flat. Maltty rum fruit cake with bready crust, brown sugar and citrus hops. Taste has more hops, and alcohol. Bitterness, rum fruit cake and alcohol make for a medicinal finish.

12oz bottle(courtesy of doubleo)-A dark brown body with a small tan ring for a head. Aroma of malt, molasses, caramel, and a hint of grape juice.Taste of this full bodied brew comes across with malt, caramel, sweetness, and bitterness on the back end. Still another tasty brew from Lagunitas.

Mahogany color with tan head and good lacing. Aroma is very light. Some malt sweetness...hint of fruit. Taste is sweet (molasses), malty, alcohol, and overripe fruit. Decent body but finishes a tad bitter.

Bottle. Pours a very dark reddish brown. Very opaque. Small creamy head that soon disappears. Prominent lacing is left behind. Aroma is exaggerated malts with some creamy egg salad notes? Interesting, but muted overall. Aroma is molasses, raisins, and thick syrupy malts. Definitely a winter brew. Syrupy and bitter, thick and aggressive, with a fair finish. Not bad.

A nice pour without much fuss. Dark brown with reddish tint. Foamy head, that’s relatively small. Excellent lacing. Aroma is awesome, perfect balance of hops and malt. Taste is bitter sweet malty hoppy. A damn good brew for such a sick name. Good tingle in the mouthfeel. Nice aftertaste to boot.

Dark brown with medium off white head. Aroma is sweet with notes of ripe fruit, roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is sweet with chocolate, roasted malt, alcohol and mold notes. Mold note to dominant...

1-22-08 bottle.
Medium amber brown with nice creamy light tan head. Smell is slight malt and honey with some sweet fruity hops too. Metallic up front. Medium carbonation with a thin body. Smooth overall and pretty good. Slightly hoppy finish and bitter aftertaste. Palate becomes nearly oily as it warms - strange.
