pepsican (884), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA Dec 1, 2007 $.49 special at family liquor. Pours ruby with a thin off white head from a hard pour. Malty. A bit of floral hops and brown sugar in the nose. Flavor was mainly malt also, with some nice bitter fruit and a very light raisin sweetness. Thick, syrupy, and quick. A nice barley wine... AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Nov 28, 2007 22 oz. bottle from late 2003. Has a copper color as I decant the contents. Nice two finger head which sticks around leaving a beautiful lace. Malty sweet smells along with floral hops.Taste is caramel sweetness balanced by perfumy floral hops with a alcohol bite in the background. Full bodied, the mouthfeel is rich and creamy.
This brew already tastes like a well aged barley wine. Excellent.
