Aroma is beans, nuts, and brown sugar, an odd mix but not unpleasant. Color is transparent cola with a medium head, good glass coating. Taste is sweet and syrupy, with only a faint hint of hops. Much too sweet. Bitter hop finish.

Beautifully dark beer with thick texture and a very sweet taste. Very lightly hopped with an almost empty after taste.

Dark mahogany-red with a creamy, golden head. The aroma is malty and sweet with notes of cane sugar and hints of dark fruit. The flavour is malty, sweet and has notes of alcohol, some dark fruit and the finish is citrussy and rather dry. 2332

Bottle. Pours a deep mahogany with a thick British khaki head. Caramel, brown sugar, sweet malts and a touch of citrusy hops in the aroma. Medium-bodied, sticky and kinda syrupy. Starts with some sweet caramel, brown sugar and pears. Finishes a little toasty with some rye, figs and the slightest touch of hops. Some woodiness is present throughout. Solid.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a deep brown that shows some ruby highlights under light. Almost no head or lacing to speak of. The aroma consists of a lot of caramel, some sweet and roasted malts, and a touch of hops. Very sweet, rich aroma. As for the flavor, it has quite a bit of sweetness like the aroma suggests. You can taste very sweet caramel, fruits, and a bit of alcohol that is followed by a quick hoppy bite at the end. Very similar to a barley wine. The sweetness tends to overwhelm the other flavors towards the bottom of the glass. The mouthfeel is thick and oily with little to no carbonation. Definately a full-bodied beer. I enjoyed this beer, but wouldn’t mind the sweetness being toned down a bit, or balanced out by a few more hops.

12 oz. bottle, dark brown on the pour with one of the quickest fading heads in recent memory. aroma is grainy malt, flavor more of the same with some syrupy, sticky sweetness and subtle hints of dark fruit and chocolate. soft, low carbonation was a plus. decent brew.

12oz. Bottle: Very sweet aroma. Smells malty with hints of caramel and cherry cough drop. Poured a dark brown/ruby color with a small tan head that diminished quickly. Clear. Not sparkling. Flavor is sweet though not bitter or sour. Tastes of tons of malts, caramel, wood, and a little fruit. Medium body. Syrupy, oily texture. Soft carbonation. Malty, salty, medium-length finish. Overall, a disappointment.

Bottle from Foodery II in Philly. Pours a deep translucent mahogany copper with a nice tan head. I can not pick up much aroma, but with a giant wiff, there is sweet malts and faint floral hops. Initial flavor caramel, toasted grains, and rye that transitions to notes of licorice and figs. Strong bitter, leafy hop finish, along with hints of gin. Boozy and warm going down. I did not care for the finish on this, which makes it somewhat uncohesive.
