Sweet, but very alcoholic flavour that’s almost too over-the-top. Plum, raisin. It’s bitter fruitcake. It’s not really my sort of thing. I don’t do fruitcake. HOPSHUNTER (376), Tampa, Florida, USA

Medium bodied with a very smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is lightly sweet with decent hop bitterness. Strong alcohol up front, which eventually recedes and some malt and caramel become present. Good. daknole (2885), Plantation, Florida, USA

Aroma is sweet, malty, licorice, dark fruits. Taste is licorice, dark fruit. Tastes more like a barley wine to me than an american strong ale. Decent. ben4321 (993), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma: Some dark fruits, caramel
Appearance:
Pours a really nice reddish-brown color, which was a nice start
Flavor: The dark fruits and caramel come through in the flavor, maybe a little bread taste to it as well.
Palate:
interesting mouth feel, and a nice taste.
Overall Impression: Another nice offering from Lagunitas...Californians really get to enjoy a plethera of good breweries, way more then us East Coasters. SHIG (2023), Aviano, Italy

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 8, 2009 Crushed with Jakebra. Very sweet on the nose with a syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor is also quite sweet with a nice rush of bittering hops blowing through the finish. It’s a little hot from the alcohol. Neither a hit nor a miss, but more of a hit than a miss.
