4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This poured a deep dark red with a 2 finger head. Some fruity esters and very mild pine like hops. Very malty and sweet, kind of like a Dopplebock. Hint of raisins and brown sugar. This is tasty and easy to drink. I would seek out another one of these!

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A mediocre brew by Lagunitas. It’s a viscous American Strong Ale, with prominent malts, caramel, and some strong hop character. It just feels a little heavy, because of the malt base, and doesn’t compensate with enough complexity, lushness or vibrancy. Meh.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours blood orange copper. Thin white head medium to light retention. Smells like citrus fruit, honey, and carmalized sugars. Flavors of sweet candy sugar, citrus, honey, and very slight banana. Lingering flavors of carmel and nut. Light to medium body with a great finish. Cheers.

Solid, but not my nearly my favorite Lagunitas offering. Not a whole lot going on, but a solid ale nonetheless.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pounder of the 2013 Release - 9.4% ABV indicated. Pours copper brown, khaki-white head that persists. Aroma is a little roast, a little hop not much. Taste is clear and sweet. A bit of that characteristic Lagunitas funk which seems to be more present than it used to.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a brilliant reddish brown color with a decent sized creamy off white head that shows moderate retention and a fair amount of lace. An almost artificial smelling fruity nose with lots of grape, cherry, and tangerine. Brown sugar, caramel and hints of yeast esters play supporting roles. Little to no hop aroma. The flavor is quite complex actually. Sweet and sugary up front mixed with grape dimetapp and a hint of wet cardboard. A hint of earthy hop flavor mixed with a bit of alcohol comes through next as do some quad like yeasty flavors. Lingering dark sugar drizzled cherries long after each sip. Medium to thick body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel. Odd brew for sure, it took me a bit to figure it out, and it was somewhat drinkable. Probably wouldn’t seek out again, but glad to try it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber->tulip. Clear amber with big frothy lite tan head. A: dark fruit, sweet malt, raisins; like a Belgian strong ale. T: boozy, with sweet malt and bittersweet overripe fruit; more like a barley wine. Bit messy.

22oz bottle. Pours dark reddish brown with a thin white head that dissipates to nothing. Toffee, caramel, tobacco, moderate bitterness, boozy. I didn't really like this one. Lagunitas has much better offerings.

Well done. Smells like apple bread. Pours red with an off white head. Sweet sticky caramel notes, slightly boozy, with a caramel apple finish.
