Pours a rich dark amber color w/ a very shy, inferior, shortlived froth that reduces fast to nothing. Mild aromas of bloated sweetness. Full nectar w/ good carbonation. This brew is rich and sweet w/ a moderate hop bittering component. Caramel, brandy, cherries, and leather. The finish is bittered well w/ lingering soupy sweetness.

Dark red-amber w/ finger of tan foam. Citrusy hop & caramel aroma w/ some rich toasted malts in the background & some chocolaty undertones. Thick, resiny, chewy feel. Flavour is malty & nicely bitter w/ some leafy, earthy notes in the finish.

Sample at Extreme beer fest. Good nose, fruity, apple, cherry, orange, grapefruit and carmel. Clean orangy red color. Bitter flavors. Same as nose with more of the citrus coming through. Medium body, Creamy oily mouthfeel, Sweet dry finish. Very drinkable. Another winner from Lagunitas.

12 fl. oz. bottle. Dark reddish brown. Medium-sized light beige creamy head. Bold caramelly aroma with burnt characteristics (sic). Smooth texture. Raisins, and with a bold maltiness that is only found in American ales. Chocolate and toffee. Delicious! Great balance.

Ruby brown with a small, off white head. Resinous, piney hops, rich caramel/toffee malt, fresh dark fruits, and some cola. Medium/full body, smooth. Very nice.

Bottle. Clear reddish-brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt, brown sugar, and floral hops. Taste is like a barleywine and not to different from Brown Shugga, with brown sugar, sweet caramel malt, mild spices, and some floral/resinous hops. Very sweet overall. Palate smooth and syrupy with fairly low carbonation. Pretty good overall.
